![]() There was much confusion regarding AI R3xx support. Well, speculations are over now as Terry Makedon aka Catalyst maker confirmed that Catalyst AI fully supports R3xx line of hardware over at DriverHeaven forums. Quote:

![]() Did any of the AI articles have benchmarks of R3XX cards? I don't remember seeing any.

![]() What about RV3xx (RADEON 9600 PRO/XT)? Do these support Catalyst AI? If yes, to what extent? |

![]() It is my understanding that Catlayst A.I. includes : 1. adaptive trilinear filtering algorithm, and 2. application specific optimizations. AFAIK, 'adaptive trilinear filtering' algorithm only works with R9600, and R4xx series because the algorithm requires additional hardware (on VPU?) which 9700, and 9800 series do not seem to have. So, is it only 'application specific optimizations' that's going to work with R3xx series ?? While both adaptive filtering as well as application specific optimizations work with R4xx (and R9600) cards only? |

![]() Hey,i don't care,i use R9600 Ultra ![]() ![]() Every optimization is better than none. And since you have full on/off control, thats nothing bad. Who runs stupid benchmarks more then one time anyway? Uuuuu i scored 250 points more in 3Dmark03 weee ![]() How REAL games run is more important. And if they can write good specific optimizations, why not. I can even eat a bit worse image for better performance. Bring Catalyst Ai on!!!!! |

![]() Does that mean we(R300 users) will only get application specific optimizations??

![]() Good news ![]() ![]() I can't wait to see the performance diff and to try a game with all the optimisations off to see the diff (if any!).
