You could probably reach 1 million cases a day before Jan at this rate. Downside? Covid. Upside? At this rate its over in a month or 2. Well by 'over' lets just hope its just the technical possibility of anymore cases. At all.

Well, just found out my brother Alex and his wife are sick with COVID. They have their shots, but they got a newborn at home. Fevers around 101 for them, but it looks like they are on the mend. My brother didn't get the booster, they live in Florida.

My Sister-in-Law tested positive on the 26th, so my parents and my other brother Adam and his family are waiting to see if they have symptoms. They all got together for Christmas.

Meanwhile, at home in Virginia, my little one has been sick the last three days, no fever, cold symptoms and now my Father-In-Law who's visiting been sick too. I tested him this morning with a home test and it came out negative.

This pandemic is just so much fun.

LOL dang but you guys were having the worst drought especially in Cali lately so its a good thing. Speaking to a bud in Meneffe he thinks its great. His pool gets refilled for free.

ION covid testing cant keep up. They stopped all contact tracing here and while they are putting up new restrictions almost daily (up to 6000$ fines in Quebec for breaking the 10 pm to 6 am curfew) it doesnt look like it will matter much. The only numbers that matter now are hospitalization numbers.

Half the people I know have it now. Not tested, because they're overwhelmed, but you can pretty much confirm it's covid.

Darn, wife just tested positive via PCR test.
As a health care worker, she was boosted but still got it. Her patients are all in their 80s, 90s, and even some in the century mark (she works in the veteran ward of Sunnybrook hospital).

I tested negative via the rapid antigen, but I"m assuming I'm positive (that test is way less sensitive).

She had a mild sore throat and just felt off.
I got my booster last week and maybe my body was already in fight mode.

Anyways, what a way to start the new year.

I may have gotten it? I'm 2 days in from being near someone that tested positive. I feel completely normal (have not received booster yet), but I will find out in 3 days as I have to get tested at my five day mark. I'm currently in a pseudo-isolation but still operating..

Omicron might be a small blessing in terms of wildfire spread, but with low(er) impact.....my wife and I are ultimately inconvenienced by the 5 day quarantine, but the thought she could have spread to her patients terrifies her (she's been off on holidays long enough where that is not a concern)...

but my brother's mother-in-law who is a tough as nails 70 year old was very vaccine hesitant and only got her first dose a month ago.... she's got covid now and not getting better...her blood oxygen levels are dropping and she might be soon in the ICU if it gets worse.

Turns out after they got tested, my parents don't have covid afterall, just a very bad flu. Strange, since my brother and his family who live near by and see them regularly all tested positive positive at the same time.

Flu is pretty brutal this year. I got it while I was in Germany and it destroyed me for 4 days. I was in the fetal position in the shower trying to do anything to stay warm.
