This happens every generation. It's over a year since release and someone suddenly decides they have to upgrade to a top of the line card. Every time the price hasn't gone down--in this case it's actually gone up--so you're paying the same (or more) for less time with the product before it's outclassed. It doesn't make sense and it's dumb.

If you haven't managed to buy at this point, then just wait.

I knew from the very beginning that I'd end up in this spot if I didn't pull the trigger early. I knew that by half or just over the life span of this architecture I'd be left with an upgrade itch.

I also considered the fact that if I were to upgrade late I would regret it as the next gen rumors and facts would increase and the prices wouldn't get better. I didn't predict they'd get worse, though. The former is why I didn't pull the trigger.

Plus I like spamming every GPU thread on how I'm still sitting on the picket fence.
