Recommended cooling for a 8500 64MB and other questions...

It's a built by ATi Radeon 8500 64MB 275/275 with stock fan and no ram sinks.
I touched it after running hp2 and other games and it gets only slightly warm.
I wanna know if it still needs any extra cooling or not.

I am paranoid about the video ram getting spoilt due to heating.
It's Hynix ram, is it any good?

Also how do I determine what my ram latency is.
Ppl told me that sometimes ATi cards come with latensy as high as 5ns.

One more thing, why is it that nVidia cards get hot like ANYTHING, while ATi cards get only warm?
Are they not doing things that the nVidia can?

if your not over clocking no extra cooling is needed, most replacement fans/sinck will make you loose a pci slot to. Ram may have numbers at the end of the chip type strung ( the writing on the chip ) eg. -3.6 is 3.6 ns, this is how you know the ram speed.

Yes, that's correct.

I have a hercules fdx 8500 le. (with 4ns memory) and flashed it with a retail bios and after that I overclocked it at 281/300 Mhz and it still was very, very stable.

So i think you don't need extra cooling.
