9700 pro power consumption ??

I've searched all over the net but can't find this info.

What is the max power consumption of this card ?

It's takes quite a bit...but from what I know, you don't really need more than a 300/350W Power supply....I really hope so.

You only need that if you are using AGP 4x.

What? So a 8XAGP mobo, and the external power supply need not be hooked up?

Yep. That was one of the main points of AGP 8x, is that it provides more power to the AGP slot.

Well I tried my Crucial 9700pro with an updated BIOS for my Asus p4PE.....still no boot beyond a POST beep.

So I' going to exchange my Q-tech 300w for a 400w - see if that makes a difference.

Otherwise back to Crucial it goes.......................
