The i875 and i865 is already getting out of date. It's going fast indeed.

Looks interesting, however its my turn to move back to AMD somtime this year, i went through 3 P4 rigs last year, 2.66Ghz 533FSB, 3.06HT 533FSB and my current setup. This year for me is going to be all about AMD Should be fun.

That P4 2.8G 533mhz with 1mb of cache seems promising. I hope my motherboard can support it.

one thing that bothers me, if you get an 865pe or 875p chipset now with socket 478 the highest you would be able to upgrade to is 3.4ghz 1mbcache.

on the AMD side

if you get a Athlon 64 socket 754 the highest you will be able to go is 3700+

then on both sides there will be a socket switch

lg-775 for intel and 939 for AMD

seems to me if you buy now your kinda screwed for upgrades. unless you max out anyboard you get now, then you may have a little room to go to a bigger processor in the next few months.

I agree, now is not a good time to upgrade, with that socket change
