Default ATI's RADEON 9700 PRO Chosen for Voodoo PC's Hardcore Gaming Machines

ATI Technologies Inc. today announced that the RADEON 9700 PRO, the fastest, most technologically advanced 3D visual processing unit (VPU) on the planet, is now available for order in Voodoo PC's line of high-end desktop PCs.

With ATI's RADEON 9700 PRO on board, Voodoo PC delivers stunning performance options and cinematic-quality gaming experiences to enthusiasts around the world. The feature-rich VPU features four parallel geometry engines that can digest more than 300 million transformed and lit polygons per second and has eight parallel rendering pipelines that can process an astounding 2.5 billion pixels per second.

"Voodoo PC has a strong history of providing hardcore gaming enthusiasts with the tools they want," said, Matt Skynner, Director, Graphics Partner Marketing, ATI Technologies, Inc. "With the addition of ATI's RADEON 9700 PRO VPU to Voodoo PC's line-up, gamers are going to feel numbing speeds, experience total flexibility and witness the most realistic visuals they have ever seen."

ATI's RADEON 9700 PRO is the first graphics architecture to support Microsoft® DirectX 9. Featuring ATI's SMARTSHADER 2.0 and floating point precision, the VPU delivers unprecedented visual quality. The implementation supports up to 16 textures per rendering pass with Pixel Shaders 2.0 and vertex programs of up to 1,024 instructions with flow control. This architecture also enables users to reap the benefits of cinematic-quality shader programs that produce detailed, realistic natural environments.

"ATI's reputation in the market for pushing the graphics envelope is epitomized by the RADEON 9700," said J. Desmond Brown, Director of E-Business, Voodoo PC. "With the new RADEON 9700 chipset, Voodoo PC can continue to offer graphics power and speed to satisfy even our most demanding gamer."

The feature-rich VPU also offers HYPER Z III efficiencies that detect and reduce overdraw and cut memory bandwidth consumption by over 50 per cent, making the VPU more efficient. The RADEON 9700 PRO incorporates a new high-performance 256-bit DDR memory interface, providing over 20 GB/second of graphics memory bandwidth.

Voodoo PC products, featuring the Intel® Pentium 4 processor and the power of the RADEON 9700 PRO can be found exclusively at their website, www.voodoopc.com .
