I think I may swerve the next gen cards as my 3090 won't be too bad in games. Not really bothered about RT I can take it or leave it. Last upgrade I was on a 5700XT mid range card so felt the need to upgrade. Now not so much. TBH.Will maybe wait until the Gen after this unless AMD can pull the rabbit out of the hat and provide me with a nice card for £600. Not holding my breath.

the two top tier 7900/7800 or 30900/3080 cards aren't going below 1000 USD for a long time

not with the inflation we got going now

it will help that few will be buying cards (or anything not needed ) with gas 6 USD dollars a gallon and going to 10 maybe

FSR 2.0 in DeathLoop looks subjectively nicer than native + Taa due to the Taa implementation. And you still have VSR to try.

What we really need is more implementation of DLAA or "FSR-AA". That way we can get the benefits of the tech without having to upsample.

One of the upsides to FSR 2.0 being open source is you could probably do exactly that.

More flexibility is always welcomed. Having good success from a fidelity standpoint utilizing Dlss in conjunction with Dldsr. That's why I raised the Vsr point for Amd.

AMD’s RDNA 3 GPUs are closer than ever with the many leaks pointing towards incredible performance uplifts over RDNA 2 boards with a similar power budget. For instance, we previously reported that AMD’s entry-level RDNA 3-based Navi 33 chip allegedly packs more power than the RDNA 2-based Navi 21 featured in the RX 6900 XT while only consuming between 220-250 W.

AMD’s David Wang confirmed these efficiency claims about RDNA 3 cards at the Financial Analyst Day 2022 briefing. Per Wang, RDNA 3 GPUs will provide more than 50% better performance-per-watt than the current RDNA 2 chips. Wouldnt be surprised to see as many skus as what nvidia does. Even a dual gpu die with 30 000 shaders is probably doable.

If they show the package with room for another chiplet like they did for ryzen way before they announced the 12 and 16 core cpus we'll know.

Besides raytracing, David also mentioned that the Optimized Graphics Pipeline for RDNA 3 GPUs will allow for even higher clock speeds than RDNA 2 GPUs. Sounds like they added tensor cores. Would it be only for upscaling or other features? I wonder if it means FSR 2.0 can only go so far... maybe its an 8k thing.

It's more likely they are extending the feature set of the CU's further. As the article mentions, CDNA already is capable of this.

Def a good thing to move to a wider 384 bit bus.

The calm before the storm. It has been relatively quiet in terms of leaks for RDNA3 architecture. However, it appears that AMD themselves made a surprising commit to AMDGPU Linux drivers, which has been immediately spotted by Kepler and other leakers.

The patch lists MCD_INSTANCE_NUM which is a number of supposed Memory Complex/Controller Dies for RDNA3 Navi 31 architecture. Interestingly, just a week later AMD replaced MCD with UMC_NODE, seemingly to hide the leak.

If this is true, then this would confirm previous rumors that Navi 31 has a single GCD (Graphics Complex Die) and six MCDs. Ultimately this means that the card has a 384-bit memory bus and most likely a total of 192 MB of Infinity Cache or 384MB if AMD were to use V-Cache on top of each MCD as suggested by Kepler.
