Any other ultrabooks in the same range I should be considering?

Hard to beat the new xps with that screen to bezel ratio, so much that I would look at the xps 15 as it has the footprint of traditional 13-14" laptops but with a bigger screen.

After gaming on a 17" laptop I can't even conceive of going back to 15" or less.

I have a big bulky 17" MSI gaming laptop -- never use it. I am staring at it right now -- a $3000 laptop that I haven't turned on for 6 months.

This is mostly for traveling -- something small but powerful. Bought a Surface Pro 3 last year, liked it at first but just too awkward.

gaming laptops are super cool just not very mobile. i am just amazed how they squeeze pretty awesome hardware into such a small footprint.

Agreed, I loved mine when I got it then realized how massive it was when I considered taking it with me.

Really excited to see this XPS -- last XPS I had was probably 10 years ago.

I am sure you'll love it. Dell seems to have turned a bit of a corner, top-end quality wise. I remember when the XPS line first came out probably about a decade ago, people just laughed.

Used and the new XPS's a few times as ive setup some up, sweeeet machines to use when on the go. Thats a great discount you got, im sure youll enjoy it. Im pretty much spoiled by the super thin bezels, anything else I look at now seem to big and bulky and i literally cry when I see such things. Im sure youll get ruined/corrupted like i have

Hope all goes well!

So a day after ordering I decided to change it up. I want to be able to do some casual gaming with a larger screen so...I upgraded to the top of the line XPS 15.

XPS 15
  • 15.6" 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160) InfinityEdge touch
  • 6th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-6700HQ Quad Core (6M Cache, up to 3.5 GHz)
  • 16GB (1x16G) 2133MHz DDR4 Memory
  • 512GB PCIe Solid State Drive
  • NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 960M with 2GB GDDR5

With taxes it was an extra $300...

Hoping I made the right decision.

Are you satisfied with your decision at the moment?

If so: you made the right decision.

If not: you may have made the right decision but will find out soon.

Either way, you'll have a new toy and you'll have the excitement of it too
