Default My GTX 275 has arrived :P

I have not really had much time to answer questions people asked me earlier as my friend wanted me to play left 4 dead and i am just now posting the pics i took. Not like left 4 dead is a hard game to run. But it was nice to crank up SS and 16xaa with no slow down in sight.
I will do some temp testing in the am and get those back to people if i get time. i just got back from work and now taking a little breather.

And yes.. my old 8800 GTX was filthy i know.

Nice!!! Your one lucky man.

Although, can you take some larger pics please? I'm having some trouble seeing some of the finer details. I don't know why people like you insist on posting such small photos.

Just harrassing you man.

Can't wait to see your impressions of the card, I've thought about swapping to 275's a few times now. Can't seem to convince myself to do it.

I'll give it some thought, let me get back to you on that.

I was under the impression that the 275's are really close to the performance of the 285's, just with the 896MB memory instead of 1GB. At least that's what I gathered from the reviews I read.

So we have a deal! Excellent!

The chips are the same afaik but the 285 board has the 512 bus with the extra ram, so more bandwidth.

I'm still chillin with these weak ass 512MB 4870s, so I'll just STFU now.

Yeah the 275's seem like a cross between a 285 and a 260... or half of a 295 would be another way to look at it I think. Nice card cj! I'm finally gonna pick up L4D on Friday, you better get ready to run my noob self through a few maps!

Yeah, the sad part is their pricing is almost down to what I paid for my GTX260 192's.

Ah yes, the wonderful world of PC hardware.

And they're actually priced cheaper compared to what I paid for the EVGA GTX 260 Core 216 SC when it was released = $309 @ Newegg.

Well hell, chew on this for a minute: I paid $289 for a 320mb 8800gts when they first came out... and that was a good price for a G80 based card back then .

You can damn sure get a lot of card for your money these days!

Like my 4830 that OCs to 700 core for $75 AR. This thing is insane, I paid less for it than I did my 2600 and it sooo much better. I can't believe how the war on prices that ATi has been wageing has pushed down the high performance parts. Everyone that is getting these great deals, really should thank their lucky stars. This has never really happened before. Normally you can not get anywhere near the top without spending 400-500, but now you can get in for 200 or less.

some temp updates. I installed warhead as first heat test. I played for about 20 min @ stock superclock speeds and the temp was around 82C. However EVGA precision reported only 45% fan speed. So i upped the card to 700 core 1575 shaderclock and 1250 memory with 100% fan speed. Played for about 20 more min and the temps where only 54C. The thing is @ 100% this card is kinda loud. Its a little louder than my 8800 GTX @ 100%. Im guessing the thermal max rating must be high on this card to only ramp up to 45% when it was @ 82C. But yeah... my case is not the greatest as its old and i have kinda neglected it over the last 2 years. My case deff does not compare to an antec 900. So i am finding the heat worries to not be an issue.

i will report back more temps and games as i get time... i got up early today so i could do this test run.

oh yeah... idle right now with 40% fan is like 49-50C. There is a massive difference between 40-100% fan speed.

Same with my GTX 260, I found 100% too loud for my tastes. However I didn't think 80% was bad at all. I kept mine at this 24/7.

CJ, how but try to setup the fan speed @60%? I will prefer to set @60% for FAH GPUv2 when my 275 arrived. Don't you think 60% would be a sweet spot between noise against the heat?

i am at work now.. but i did test 60% for noise and it was hardly noticeable. i will report temps at 60% when i get back home

I love how the gtx2xx series of cards look so manly. They are super heavy, and even burn you if you touch them without permission.

Have you tried touching a 4850 under full load?

You have got to be a god damn retard to get a 3rd degree burn from a video card. You know what a 3rd degree burn looks like?

Hah, no doubt with a one slot cooler. I wonder how hot they get in furmark, triple CF would likely start melting your case.

Ya I know that.

But just on the side, you stick that video card up your ass (which I'm sure most nvidiots do after a hard days of gayming) after 10 min of furmark and it will cool faster than you would get a 3rd degree burn.
