Installed new front rotors due to shudder and vibration when braking.
  • $560 each
  • 31.5lbs each
  • 15.4 inch diameter each

It now hauls down smooth and strong. Vibration 100% free.

Flashed it back to stock because apparently not all my systems are in a ready state for Pa's shitty emissions testing. Hoping they come online by Friday, and then I may leave it stock until I get my downpipe and flash stage 2 so it's that much bigger of a change.

Gave my black Ford for final free service.
Also getting some dents removed (6 panels).
Got them to do full interior cleaning and special paint polish as well.

Going to cost a bunch - about 550 caps.

Didn’t do rim restoration because wife probably going to destroy them within a month anyways.

Getting my old Ford serviced as well. Hit 111125 KMs after 12 years. Not bad. Might need to do the engine mount fix as that has been pending for 2 years and maybe the second radiator fan is busted. Going to cost another 500-600 slaps.

My GLI was on 19768KM when restrictions started, now, 14 months later it's on 19980KM 5 years 8 months old car .

The Tiguan has gotten 800KM since October when I bought it new.

i've worked like all the years before, so my mileage was the same. Around 70 kilometers a day just for work + all the other stuff, you can do the math on your own.

Fixed the large dents in the exhaust from a rock I had to run over 2 weeks ago. Had no room to swerve, braking would have nosed down the car, so had to go right over it hoping my car was tall enough. The skid plate did its job and saved the engine but the rock bounced around under my car, the worst damage being to the exhaust near the muffler. So I purchased a 3" U pipe from Summit and cut out the dented metal and cut out some patches from the U pipe. One of the dents:

U pipe:

Bits of metal I cut out:

One of the patches in place:

Both patches welded in and ground back to check for holes. Found one hole when I started the car that needed patching.

Everything painted with high temp header paint:

The dents were deep enough to cause constriction, especially noticeable when passing. I'm pretty happy with the outcome, even if the work is ugly.
