As for the launch, the RDNA 3 based AMD Radeon RX 7000 series is expected within the second half of 2022. For RDNA 4, the launch is positioned at late 2023 or early 2024 and performance estimates position it as 'at least as big as Ampere over Turing'. So a 50% improvement in performance at the very least.

Yeah, no clue why Nvidia doesn't just change the generation name and/or just use it internally. Or they could just call it Grace Hopper, instead of just Hopper.

I think Nvidia has an uphill battle here if Dish already has the name in use.

There may be a market for ultra high-end sku's as long as the performance is there. It wasn't too long ago that some higher-end gamers would purchase Sli, tri, and quad platforms for more performance with expensive power supplies as well. Sli has been replaced by monolithic designs and if one desires the ultimate performance one has to pay to me.

Performance per watt is still very, very important and the mobile discrete is starting to become very popular with gamers and you can see by the Steam Survey, there are laptop sku's leading the way.

There will always be ultra high end gamers but i am talking generally.This period of 2022 is special than before 2019.If the cards consumption will be too high raising costs of ownership vast majority will think twice before buying.There is a big scandal in my country about raising costs of electricity, petrol/diesel and natural gas.We are comming out after 2 years of pandemic.

Generally or value doesn't translate to ultra high-end. There will be sku's that cater to this market where wattage is important to a potential customer.

My current vega56 consume 200watts only the card.Even if i will have the money i would not go over 300watts only the gpu.A 6800xt consumes 282 watts.

That's why I usually like the second tier chips and their derivatives based on the stronger performance dollar and less wattage.

In the 2019 this was not a problem.People with pockets had the money to buy very high end stuff and pay for the bills too.But now nvidia may bring out a 600watts gpu only + rise electricity bills..I don't see a warm welcome for this combination.

well NV isn't in the top 5 of TSMC's Customers

but even then if proof of stake finally goes in Q2 like they say and it works to stop GPU mining
it will be good or back to more normal like the 2000's were , and the high prices


AMD is getting the 6000's out fairly well now
it's samsung i think and the NV cards mine better

I think it may be how much crypto demand there is when the 4xxx series is offered. Nvidia may have to be a bit careful with how much supply they may offer with Gpu's because it did bite them in the ass with such excessive inventories when crypto demand dropped a few years ago.
