Default Who has the best deal on Cell Phone Plans

Of all the carriers, who would you say has the best deal on Nationwide plans?

Im looking for some promotions, special offers, or things of that nature that i personally may have missed when looking around.

Also, im looking for something ~ 1000 anytime minutes / free nights & weekends / text messaging

both 1000 anytime minutes will run you 65-70 dollar plus per month

Yeah.
Sprint sucks BIG TIME.
After having them a few years ago for a period of 2 years i will never go back to them.
Horrible reception, constant dropped and missed calls, and just piss poor customer service.

Verizon is just crappy cust serv.
However i got in on their promotion a couple years ago:
1000 anytime minutes
Free nights weekends
Free long distance
Nationwide plan
for $49 / month

But they pissed me off several times for various reasons and i would only go back to them if they have a comparable plan.

Otherwise, im not sure between:
Cingular, Nextel, TMobile, Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and then a local service around here thats good for my area code (Cricket Wireless : UNLIMITED calls, UMLIMITED LONG Distance, Unlimited text messages, Unlimited Wireless Web access: $54.99 , only downside is it doesnt have roaming and stops working if i travel out of my area code, but thats about an effective 45 mile radius range thats hard to ignore unless i do heavy traveling which i really dont)

i's STILL go with nextel, they offer great service i heard, my counsler at camp just switched to nextel from sprint and he said where there was digital roaming for the sprint phones, there was none for the nextel, they have huge coverage areas...

Alltell and Verizon are probably the best carriers out there. Good thing about Verizon is that you arent charged minutes when you talk to someone who is also with Verizon.

I just got my wife and I new cell phones to replace our home phone.

We went with Sprint because her parents, who spend 10 months of the year in North Carolina, also have SprintPCS. Therefore, she can call her mom all she wants and not have to worry about being charged long distance AND it doesn't count against our anytime minutes because we have free PCS-to-PCS calling.

So, we signed up with the 500-minute plan...since the only major calling either of us do before 7pm on weekdays is to each other.

Our bill is looking to be around $90/mo. for 2 phones. Not as bad as I expected!

And so far, I have no complaints. Good customer service, good reception, and a couple great phones! I got a Samsung A620 camera phone for $99...she got a LG flip phone for $49.

Not AT&T. I'm so fed up with the crappy reception, seems like their "coverage" map is shady. But at least I have mobile to mobile (free) minutes with other AT&T Wireless users, and when I got my new phone they cut my monthly charge by about $15 and gave me more anytime minutes.
But the reception is so bad sometimes I don't think it's even worth it.

AT&T is getting out of the wireless business. They recently inked a deal with SprintPCS to start reselling sprint services. I think Cingular already has a bid in to take over AT&T Wireless but some think they may sell to sprint instead so they can get consessions from the Sprint Local & LD which Cingular can't help them out with.

With SprintPCS you can get the new Fair & Flexible plan that gives you 300 anytime minutes, unlimited nights and weekends, but it doesn't carry overage charges. If you use alot of minutes regularly, it's not for you, but at $.10 per minute after the first 300 it's nice cause you're not going with a low plan then forking over a ton of minutes if you guess wrong.

I'm surprised nobody has said T-mobile, They just got rated #1 in customer service by JD Power and Associates . They have Really good RP's... Currenty its $39.99 for 600 whenever, unl Nights and Weekends, and Nationwide Free Long Distance and roaming, They used to have a promo(which i have) which was 1000 whenever mins, unl Nights and Weekends Nationwide, for $39.99...

They are GSM, so they don't have as big as an coverage area as a company that uses outdated technology *cough* VERIZON analog*cough*... so you get tons of features, and GSM is also the Global standard as far as phones go, you can go pretty much anywhere in europe/asia and have you GSM phone work, assuming its a tri-band+ phone..

But with any carrier, i'd suggest trying it for the buyer's remorse peroid, t-mobile has 14 day.. return it and not have to pay a termination fee, or the activation fee..

Wow what a load of poop first of all Telus was rated #1 overall in north america(hey I work for them we rock hehe), and secondly how can you call gsm more advanced than cdma??????????? cdma is capable of handling 25% more calls, and it is far more flexible as far as updating the phones etc etc. It also integrates better network management tools from the providers perspective. Yes we all know GSM is a world standard but we live in North AMerica and we take what we can get. Oh btw the majority of cdma providers do have analogue yes. This is in places where there is no digital coverage because the population and distances(analogue is 800mhz therefore longer reach) required make leaving the old analogue towers a better choice. The other company's you love so dearly rarely have service in these places if at all.

Also I am in Palm Beach a few times a year and T mobile is brutal there (i used to be with fido which is a canadian gsm provider which roams with T-mobile)Basically i had a signal half the time lol.

I wish they'd implement an automatic billing cycle timer for all calls, right on the phone itself. Why should anyone have to guess at how many minutes they've used?

why don't you look on JD power's website???

http://www.jdpower.com/cc/telecom/jd...s/Find.jsp?s=4

yeah see that, yep its T-mobile number one in customer service just like i said.... Who ranked your work as number #1?

Look where he lives... Nashville, thats a real rural area i tell you what....

and i never said for him to GET t-mobile, i said for him to try it...

I gf had a verizon phone, one that uses the cdma/tdma stuff, i hated it... it would ALWAYS go into analog, wehre it would be not stop static, and battery wouldn't last a day (brand new LG phone, new battery, and thats how they are, nothing was wrong with it) I live in a big city... there shouldn't be any problem...

I have Sprint PCS here in Tampa and have great coverage. My plan is for 2 phones with 1000 minutes, unlimited text messaging, unlimited picture mail, unlimited web, free PCS to PCS & free nights after 7pm all for less then $80 a month.

And AT&T sucks so don't go with them. T-Mobile is good over here but that GSM is weak and you won't have a signal in certain indoor locations. I choose CDMA so either Verizon or Sprint.

....

We are the Faster growing city in the country over the coures of the last 5 years.
We have a metro area of 2 Million +
We are in the top 25 largest cities in the country.

Far from rural.
We are also the homebase for Fedex, Dell, UPS, and becoming more so now for the likes of Newegg / Zipzoomfly / Ecost / TigerDirect / etc etc.

This place is a LOT larger than you think.

Respect "da ville" (as the brutha men like to call it )

Oh and since no one could really make up their minds and i need service like FAST.

I just went with Cricket Wireless (again):

Unlimited Local Minutes
Unlimited Long Distance Minutes to all US states and Canada except for Alaska.
Unlimited Text Messages
Unlimited Wireless Web
3 Way calling
Caller ID
yadda yadda
plus Monthly insurance this time (which i should have had last time around and i wouldnt be in this mess)
For a total of $55 / month

The range here as i mentioned earlier is good for approximately a 45 Mile radius.
Pretty much up to Kentucky, and almost as far down as Georgia, and West enough for Mississipi just about.

Then again i dont travel that much outside of the state so i dont need to worry about all that.

Here was the phone i got too:
Audiovox CDM 8900 Camera Phone

I would have gladly gone with Tmobile just as well if they could offer me more day time minutes.
That was the sucky thing, just about every cell phone service provider today offers no kind of decent day time minutes (WITHOUT cutting out something else), unless you are willing to pay like $75 or more...
Oh well.
This one will do just fine
