Default Got a funky WU - p1477

Current Work Unit
-----------------
Name: p1477_release31_0
Download time: May 3 11:26:22
Due time: June 24 11:26:22
Progress: 81% [||||||||__]

Any info on this? As near as I can tell, its worth 364pts, but I can't find any info on it anywhere. I've checked two places.

Here

And here

I'm more curious as to what this WU's results are for. I'm crunching through it at a pretty good clip. Under 8 min/frame (23 min/frame for non-graphical types). I really like the points per time on this one.

I've had one. My system managed almost 400 ppd with them. Yeah, 364 points. About 13min/frame on my 3500+ runnin text console. I'd actually like to see one of those WU's again. It would be nice

Confusedsoul

Edit: They must be in beta stages. Which is why they're not listed. I'm not 100% sure, someone else should know for sure. Oh, BTW, you do know your production per day is on a downward trend right FOLD ON!

Even with the big WU option, I've been getting 50-70 pointers for the last week. Finally got me a 239er yesterday

Looks to be closely related to p1475_tet1_03_1 listed in the protein summary page:

http://vspx27.stanford.edu/psummary.html

For whatever reason, it isn't listed on the beta protein summary page either. I can say that these use new calculations that are HUGE for the project. We're talking an increase in calculation speed by a factor of 100x to 1000x while reducing the memory by 4x for certain calcs. That justifies the 300+ PPD that is currently associated with them. Awesome stuff.

Keep in mind that the newer amber and gromac core versions get pretty damn hot, so keep that in mind if you're OCing and see some new instability.

Lupine, the protein summary page you linked says "Projects in beta are not listed on this chart, as requested previously".

Are there two different summary pages? If so, could you link me to this 'beta protein summary page' please? I searched around Stanfords site but I can't seem to find it. Google didn't help either.

Amber? Gromac? Why would these newer cores be hotter? I thought in terms of hot-ness they would be all the same, that they'll use whatever idle time/cycle the CPU has, no? That if you're not doing anything they'll max out CPU usage?

Sorry, I don't know anything.

I got a 1476 on my laptop and it is going thru it at an amazing pace. Didn't want to start a new thread but I was reading 10min/frame on a 3.9 p4....my 1.6 p-m is doing 10min/frame. Is it supposed to be this fast?

Yeah that's what I'm wondering. I guess they are very cache dependent/memory bandwidth intensive? And having 2 mb of cache seems to help a lot? I can't see any other reason why a 1.6 p-m will be as fast as the fastest p4.

Are anyone still getting these? From the server status page it seems like they are available? I haven't had one in a while and would love to get more on my laptop. 500+ ppd at ~16W

I still see them occasionally on the P-M laptops I've got folding @ the shop. I think one was supposed to have completed and submitted last night, but we've been having network connectivity issues lately I'll probably find a few WUs waiting to be submitted when I get in on Monday, which means several machines are sitting idle right now
