Default FTC abandons net neutrality

The FTC said in a report that, despite popular support for net neutrality, it was minded to let the market sort out the issue.
This means that the organisation will not stand in the way of companies using differential pricing to make sure that some websites can be viewed more quickly than others. The report also counsels against net neutrality legislation.

Highly unlikely. If that would happen, and no new ISPs were to popping up to take on the competition, then that's the time for regulatory authorities to step in. However, it seems right now people are chasing ghosts on the middle of the day. Like the FTC stated, in the absense of a market failure there's no need for additional regulations at this time. Truth is, we rely on the market in much more important things than internet access, such as bringing food on our tables, so I don't see why people are expecting a market failure here.

Not only that but not many ISP's would do that except maybe something like AOL.

If most ISP's did restrict net access, some ISP's wouldn't and everyone would move to them and, then the other ISP's would be forced to unrestrict the net again, and we'd be back were we are now.

I'll just hate the day, when say, someone like Comcast who has a bunch of customers, tells Google one day that they need to pay billions of dollars, for Google to continue to get traffic from Comcast customers, otherwise, they'll get blocked.

That is really the scary part here. Not how we are treated, but how the traffic will get treated. Americas data infrastructure needs to grow, not be regulated.
