Default Pixel bug help!!!

OK.I got a massive problem with my texture and i dont know what is it, and how to fix it.When i play i got very nice graphic, no problems, but when i get close to a wall,etc, the texture, instead of smoothing itself as i get closer to hit, just become uglier and pixelated, blocky.( look picture )

How do i fix that?????What cause it??I first tough it was my old fx5900 xt, so i sold the 5900xt and bought this radeon 9800 pro 128 meg, but now it do it, is it recent? I dont know ,Iv installed dx9,latest ati driver, older driver etc.Nothing to do.It doesnt come from my graphic card.

Perhaps rage3d tweaker?Is there a way to reset the tweaker to the card settings?There seem no reset option on the tweaker,and i think by removing/unninstalling the program it doesnt change anything.

Any help could be welcome.

I suspect either the installation of rage3d tweaker OR my mobo or AMD( i got a asus a7n8x and a xp2500, 1 gig of ram kingston )

Help!!!

It do that if i set my card driver to best performance or best quality, it seem there is no difference

hmm.... I got same problem on my 9800 PRO card,The texture is ugly in GTA vice city ,I use all(4.X) ati drivers but no one could fix it.

look this,A texture bug in GTA vice city


when I open the frame limiter,the texture is good as usual


I think it is bug of ATi drivers

kanewalk: it's the game engine, not an ATi problem. The engine is made to run on the PS2 at a fixed framerate. That frame limiter option is there to make the PC render the scene at the same frequency it was ment to be on the PS2. If you turn it off, in some cases, the engine can't process the data and it displays glitches everywhere.

ifesfor: you're in for a nice format buddy. Format, SP1, latest chipset drivers (AGP, IDE, etc.), dx9.0c, catalyst drivers, the rest.

Normally, textures look like that when you plant your face (camera) up against it.

By the looks of that pic, looks pretty normal to me.. Unless of course, you have some super dooper uber cool hi-res texture mod applied to your game that Im not aware of.

i agree with vw_factor that the pic in the 1st post looks normal. it's a low res texture.

It aint a low res pic its a very high quality picture taken from UT 2004. And god dammit i dont want to reformat!!!!!


God if i can arrange this F buck, to hell pc gaming im getting a mac!

GF2MX400(200/240) run in game that everything is OK!!!!!!!!!!,thats why?All drivers are lastest.who can tell me?cuz 9800Pro is fasterererererererer than MX400

That's why. The engine isn't overloaded as the MX400 is a slow card.
The 9800PRO is way faster, so the engine can't render everything on the screen perfectly as THE ENGINE WAS MADE TO RUN ON A PSX2 AT A FIXED FREQUENCY.
