Now would be a good time to note that the first Blu-ray player to market, Samsung's BD-P1000, is expected to have an MSRP of $1,000 USD...

I havent really been keeping up with this...but I'm assuming then that the HD-DVD concept isnt really flying?

I'm not to sure about that. HD-DVD was losing for a while, but recent info shows it in much more of a positive light. I see it regaining some of the prior momentum it lost...

Now would also be a good time to note that LG dropped its Blu-ray player to work on a player that supports both HD formats.

Well, true...but at last report it wasn't due until fall-ish, assuming it doesn't get pushed back further or outright killed. God knows I'd love to see one of these reach market, though.

I don't care one bit about upcoming titles...what matters to me is when i can buy the burner & discs for a somewhat reasonable price

Hopefully, since I just bought a Acer 37inch LCD 1920x1080 real resolution TV I dont want the damn Blueray/HD-DVD players costing too much
