Some of the shaders/materials look a little off (to say the least). Love the cloth simulations, animation (although mocap) is a step forward for games in general. So is this supposed to be... after MGS4?

I really like the emphasis on the large environments and the cinematics with no cuts. I think they purposely made it that way to show off their engine.

MGS3 is probably the one that received the most critical acclaim. It's a hard game to really get into. Silly characters, awkward gadgets, offbeat Japanese humor, gross overacting and dated game design. However I love the games. When MGS came out on PC I played it and wondered what the fuss was about. I saw friends playing MGS3 and thought it was a clunky mess. Then about 2 years back I sat down and played the first two Metal Gear games that came out for the MSX. The real games, not the garbage NES ports. I found myself drawn in to the silly characters and simple gameplay. The music was amazing even back then and it only got better with MGS, by the time I reached MGS3 the series had become one of my favorites, cut scenes and all. Speaking of cut scenes. How good does MGS4 look on PS3, even today?

If it's mostly Japanese developed it's have all the MGS trimmings. It's funny the main western character in the series is the most emo. "Noami!" Oh man that scene was painfully acted.

If you call a tiny ass map 8 hours of gameplay sure, if you are doing just the main mission it takes about 30mins at the most, if you're slow.

If you like to explore every nook and cranny it will take a few hours, but personally the game is not worth it.

I spent £22 on it and sold it for £20 on ebay the following week, even at £2 I felt like Kojima raped me.

Just wait for Phantom Pain or buy this at 75% sale, anything else will make you insta regret it.

FYI I love MGS games.

Why not include this in the full game? Why not just have it as a free demo for the main game?

It seems Japanese devs are releasing DLC before the game is actually out.
