![]() Crimson Skies does run like crap!! I read somewhere that it has to do with the engine used in the game and not your system. I play at at 640x480 with everything maxed out. Any higher and it goes choppy. Sorry I couldn't help! P3 600 Radeon 32 DDR |

![]() Damn I was hoping there was an easy tweak for it. It runs in the 50's with my Voodoo5...but with the Radeon the lighting looks great however the fps makes it nearly unplayable. Maybe there will be a fix for this eventually...I can hope anyways! ![]() Thanks guys.

![]() Doh, just when I was thinking that this was a Via chipset problem, you seem to have an intel one, and it's still slow. Back to the drawing board.

![]() Have you tryed switching it to 32bit by adding -32bbs(not sure uninstalled Crimsion Skies a couple months ago) and turning on the ZTable Fog and WBuffer in the Radeon Tweakers? I belive thats what I did to get it runing smooth at 1076x468 Rez. I was also useing the 3063 drivers. ![]() I play this game in high res with all details set to the max. It looks great and plays great too. On line play is smooth as can be. I have an Abit BX6-r2 Intel BX chipset motherboard. I use the 3063 Radeon drivers on the Radeon 32MB DDR board. Also have the 1.02 update of the game installed with directX8. About the only thing that the 1.02 update for the game did was that the game loads up faster. No special tweaks, it just works great on my system. No choppy display when playing. I did do the system tweaks for Windows98. Why I still use the 3063 drivers is that any driver past 7020 does not display NASCAR3 properly, which I play too. So I have been stuck with these drivers until ATI gets a new driver that works with NASCAR3. The Radeon can not run the NASCAR4 demo in openGL either. |

![]() My experience with Crimson Skies has been great: high res, max detail, no stuttering, great framerates. I've played it on a Radeon 64 DDR, a GeForce2 and a Voodoo 5500. Looks best and runs plenty fast on the Radeon. I use the 7072 drivers. I have found it to be a memory hog (you need at least 256 MB of RAM and a big swap file). |

![]() I played it when I still had my Geforce and it was pretty choppy. Haven't tried it with my Radeon, though. |

![]() dnottis I checked out CS with the fraps utility. My framerates vary from 19 to 40 depending on how busy things are. The slowest level is Manhattan. I barely crack 30 fps in that one. The smoothest seems to be Sky Haven. In instant action dogfights the framerate remains consistantly around 30fps. Attacking a zeppelin is a different story. It really seems to bog things down. Things get smoother when I overclock the board to 183/183 though I don't notice a big jump in framerates. Though I am happy with the radeon my TNT2 ultra (175/183) seemed to run the game at much smoother framerates. Later |

![]() Thanks Ripper that's about what I was getting.. some places hit 7 fps depending on smoke, fire and clouds...other times it was 38...my Voodoo5 is a bit smoother with the game...but it looks better with the Radeon. I've recently come across a problem with the game....having a cable modem on the system I can't get the game to install unless I remove it..then it's fine.. Damn MS! ![]()
