does PCI latency patch for Via Chipset reduces shuttering in games

It TOTALLY eliminated the "snap-crackle-pop" effect with my SBLive, that's for sure. I never really had much trouble to begin with in terms of in-game sound, so in that respect i can only assume it's equal or better.

I don't think the PCI latency patch would do anything for games, unless you're using a PCI video card. Most video cards run on AGP now and that's a completely different bus from the PCI bus. AGP is connected directly to the northbridge, CPU, and system memory, while PCI still has to go through the southbridge. AGP and PCI should have no effect on each other except maybe when your AGP card is sharing IRQs with a PCI card.

Actually, if your sound card has issues with the system, it DOES make a difference in games.
