Metro: Last Light video shows tessellation, PhysX in action

A new tech video from NVIDIA offers up some comparison screenshots and footage from Metro: Last Light, in which you'll see exactly what difference tessellation and PhysX makes. While the former isn't much to speak of (at least in the shots shown here), the latter can be substantial.

Do they still officially not allow Physx acceleration with a non-Nvidia card as the primary video card in the system?

I think you may have misunderstood. It should be allowed, but it'll likely run terribly.

I guess what I wanted to ask, but wasn't clear enough in my initial post; is it possible to install an Nvidia card purely for hardware Physx acceleration whilst having a non-Nvidia card as the primary video adapter without using hacked drivers?

I'm running hybrid, just installed both drivers, and then you need to run a couple programs to config everything and delete a couple physx files in the game folder. If i get a performance hit i don't see it

Afaik No, Nvidia because of "customer support" reasons don't let that to work, you still need a hack to have that.
