![]() You know, for the 3 of us ![]() So far I've enjoyed it a lot. I got several emulators up and running and streaming works flawlessly. I have to look into a dualband router. I can see some artifacting on my current one. Here is a quick vid of me streaming CS GO through steam |

![]() I keep wanting to film a video but keep playing games with it instead. For those who said they wanted remote streaming, it's been figured out and instructions are posted here: https://forums.geforce.com/default/t...remote-gaming/ |

![]() I picked up Real Boxing for $0.99. It might just be a "button smashing" game but it is fun ![]() Starwars pinball is listed a Shield game but I couldn't get the flippers to flip with the shoulder buttons. Shoulder buttons seem to me to be the most natural way to play pinball.

This gives me hope for streaming the PS4 on Vita. Target has all Vitas for $199. So it's shield streaming steam games, plus phone game junk or the Vita streaming PS4 games and the vita library. Really see the positives and negatives in both setups to be honest, the Vita library is not all that impressive, but what they do have seems of better quality than phone crap..Steam on the other hand seems > PS4, but the PS4 stuff is designed for the controller like you said. Plus with PS+ I have a ton of games for the vita. |

![]() If I had an NVidia card, I would buy one. it'd be great for playing pc games while in the living room, or at work when I could bring my sff with me.

I've had my PC crash on me a couple of times, though, and I think it might be the most recent Steam beta. I see they added some other features to the streaming, and if I lose a stream I can easily get it back now, but I've had about three freezes in 10 hours of streaming. Not terrible, and it could be my PC just heating up because of the summer, but if it freezes I have to get out of bed to reset it! ![]() First world problems... anyway, I'm really getting used to the screen and the setup, and even had a pretty successful Borderlands session last night despite having very little experience playing it with controller. Still very very happy with this device. When PC streaming is out of beta it will be even better! Edit: I also wanted to say that while at first I was kind of stoked about some of the Android games, I haven't really touched any of them since I started streaming. PC games are so much better than anything Android has right now. Pitty... Last edited by Jet Black : Aug 12, 2013 at 01:38 PM. |

![]() I think I will now most certainly have to buy one because my new home has study on the ground floor where my putter will be and my room is upstairs. Since I mostly play games at night, it will be absolutely necessary to get this gadget to stream games to the top floor. I think there will be no other option but to purchase this. ![]() |

If anyone is considering streaming this at home, network quality is pretty important. 5Ghz N is recommended, but since my router is in my basement (bad place I know) and I'm on the top floor, my 5Ghz signal is worthless. That said, it does work fine on 2.4ghz N even at 20mhz channel width. I picked up a cheap Powerline Ethernet from TD-Link which I plugged into my basement router and then plugged the other end in my bedroom. It has a built-in 2.4ghz N wifi transmitter so I'm basically only transmitting wirelessly from the bed to the wall, and then over the copper electrical wire to the router. Unlike the Internet which is pretty robust with regard to fluctuating connections, the stream works best with something solid so I used Wifi Analyzer to pick the right channels (I didn't realize my neighbours all had so many access points!). Wish I could use 40mhz wide channels, but the level of interference from neighbours was ridiculous and I haven't found/bothered looking for a 5ghz access point because they are either too expensive or don't exist (routers yes, access points no). But as I said, a solid 802.11n connection seems to be enough (I even streamed a bit of Alien Breed on a G connection for a good 20 minutes and it seemed good, but probably game-dependent). ![]() I'm using the Shield more than I used the tablet it replaced. Not so much for gaming, although I do play games on it . Mostly I take it outside, smoke a cigars and watch Netflix. The sound is good enough I don't need headphones and it stands on it own(don't need to hold it). No buyers remorse yet... ![]()

![]() 99% of the time I'm using my Shield I'm streaming, but I picked up a couple of cute Android games yesterday and I'm impressed with how quickly Android developers are embracing the Shield's controller. Reaper (Free to level 10 and then you can buy it outright) is kind of neat. It's an action RPG with some simple fight mechanics, but I've been enjoying it quite a bit. Heroes of Loot ($3 or something) is a lot like Hack Slash Loot mashed together with Gauntlet. Not sure how either of these perform on touchscreen but for Shield they are pretty fun and natively support the controller (Heroes of Loot even had an overlay of the controller showing what each button does - and it was quite obviously a shield overlay not a generic controller). I still prefer Steam streaming due to the fact that I know more about the games and even the Tegra 4 graphics in 3D are still generations behind what my PC can do, but for these cute combat / action / RPG games, I can see shutting the PC off and just using Android once in a while. |

![]() How is everyone liking there Shield so far now with the new GameStream update? I've been playing all the old classic arcade fighting games like Marvel vs Capcom, Darkstalkers, Street Fighter Alpha, and Street Fighter 3 3rd Strike which work great using a combo of Retroarch and the MadCatz Playstation 3 Tournament Fight stick. I literally can bring the arcade anywhere I go now and challenge other folks while on the street or corner. (I haven't actually tried that yet but still the possibilities are endless.) |

![]() Has anyone tried a Dreamcast emulator on Shield? I still have a DC in working order, but the controllers have all seen better days. I noticed on youtube that N64 and even PSP emulators are working. Also, if you hook Shield up to a Monitor, can you use Shield as a controller and hook up a second controller such as an Xbox or PS3 controller for multiplayer games? I still trying to decide if this is what I want to try to simplify and consolidate my emulation\classic games collection.

The shield controllers still work even with another controller connected if that is what you mean for fighting games, both controllers need to work even when in console mode which turns the Shield screen off. I've found the xbox controller works better for button layouts on the shield compared to the ps3 controller. I know that Playstation portable and DS games work great on the Shield. I was playing Kingdom hearts birth by sleep recently. Sega 32x and Final burn arcade run at full speed on the Shield. Last edited by skyguy : Nov 7, 2013 at 06:32 PM. |

![]() I played with console mode for the first time. Vice City looks and runs much better than it did on the PS2, but I wish I could remap the buttons. Using "B" to shoot is awkward since you use the right thumb stick to look\aim. Ys 7 looked bloody terrible lol! I gave the Epic Citadel demo\benchmark a go at 1080p and it looks amazing. Maybe that will inspire some android developers to try a AAA Skyrim like project. Then I started playing Super Mario World, and kept playing, and didn't try out anything else I had intended to because of it...

That said, still love the device ... Use it most nights to play games in bed. Noticed the nVidia GRID game streaming service is beta and free. Haven't been home to try it but noticed a lot of people outside of the Bay Area playing so if your internet is good you can try some decent aaa games for free. |

![]() Reicast is now in out in alpha form. It supports the shield controller pretty well. I tried a few minutes of Sonic Adventure and it ran well, then I played a few fights in Street Fighter vs SNK which ran full speed, but had graphics glitches. It's still a raw alpha, but it looks promising. http://reicast.com/
