Exclamation Gaming PC with Built-in Xbox 360 = All-in-one gaming machine

the designers at Origin PC today announced the introduction of The Big O; a high-power gaming PC that features a built-in Xbox 360.

Each PC comes with a built-in Xbox 360 'Slim', which can be played while the PC is running other tasks and software, and supports all of the same connections and features of a full console. While the built-in Xbox 360 is certainly the biggest selling point of The Big O, it is actually one of the fastest gaming rigs available. The entry level version of the system features an overclocked 4.0GHz Intel Core i7 930 processor, a liquid cooled Rampage III Extreme motherboard, dual NVIDIA GTX 480 GPUs, 6GBs of memory, dual 50GB SSD drives, a 2TB hard drive, Creative Fatal1ty sound card, and built-in Blu-ray burner. Sounds expensive? It is; Origin has priced the base configuration at $7,669.

If that wasn't enough to break your bank, The Big O is also offered in the configuration used by CPU Magazine, which features dual Intel Xeon X5680 processors overclocked to 4.3GHz, an EVGA SR2 motherboard, liquid cooling, quad SLI EVGA GTX 480 GPUs, 12GBs of memory, four 50GB SSD drives, two 2TB hard drives, a built-in Blu-ray burner, and a built-in 8 channel HD audio sound card, at a price of $16,999.

Ripoff. They are probadly getting an extra $11k in blind profit. That machine can be custom built for under $6k.

For that price id expect to see atleast 32GBs of system ram and five 250GB SSD drives. A built in soundcard? Come on. A discrete soundcard with much better sound performance is only $100 for OEM. Whats $100 out of 17 grand. Come on Origin.

Great so now your PC can red ring of death too. Pretty much anyone could mount a Xbox in a double wide PC case if they really wanted to so its nothing special.

Where are you going to put this discrete soundcard? Unless you mean USB. Perhaps they owner would use the HDMI Audio present in one of the four GTX 480's in there?

Its not even a nice concept. Its just money splurging.

Now, a 3.5" 2 slot Xbox 360 unit that goes along with a special connector backplate would be a nice concept.

Well let's see-
Those 4 vid cardd will run around $2000
That mobo is around 900
Those 2 Xeons will run around 3200
The 360 and the custom job to mount it

Plus the RAM, the psu, the 6 hdds the blu-ray burner, the custom case and liquid cooling... doesn't look off by so much to me because it's all custom. Yeah they inflate the price some but the company has to turn a profit. That'd be a killer machine and it looks awesome too. If I was a millionaire I'd order one right now! I'm not so I'll stick with my trusty Alienware.

WTF I don't even get this. Why don't I just buy a computer for $500 and a X360 for $200 instead? $700 vs $8000....

exactly, whats the point of making this unmovable machine weighing 100 Pounds or more.

And putting the xbox360 in there will not increase in speed, and you won't be able to move it as well.

i think it is just to show what you can do with hardware, but this one just sucks

then again even a 260 gtx, 8800 gtx, 4890 ati , can play 99% of todays pc game at best setting. PC gaming is no where like what it used to be. You can have the best hardware on pc, but where are the games.

IF they can make One pc emulator for xbox 360 , ps3, wii. THen that will be a ALL IN ONE Gaming machine ... not putting a xbox360 inside the box and call it a all in one gaming machine lol

It's just a waste of money. You could build a machine almost as fast for 1/4th the price, or one that could game fine for 1/8th the price or less. I doubt they'll sell very many of these machines at the price they're asking. What's more you can buy a separate XBox 360 easy enough, so that isn't even much of a selling point.

$8000 for an overpriced PC and a 360 that will have no warranty whatsoever as it has been gutted to put it in that overpriced case.

Does this company know what the word recession is?

And in 3 months that hardware will be a fraction of that price. Computer hardware fluctuates far too much to spend anything close to that amount to find value, knowing very shortly after I got it, it will be replaced by the next best thing.

You are presuming that just because you can own a high-end components, that there must be the software that takes advatage of them. It doesn't. Just like when you pick up the PS3, you can't expect that every development team will have tens of millions of dolars to make their games look as good as first party tiles, that Sony money rolls to sell the system.

And PC will thrive in the I don't want what everyone else wants philosophy of making games.

You're right that 100 lbs isn't actually "unmovable", but if my PC did weigh 100 lbs I'd be pretty pissed off. Having to lug around a bulky PC case that weighed 100 lbs would be very irritating.

Only people with buttloads of extra money would ever consider this.

So instead of getting a top-of-the-line (let's say same specs) desktop, all three consoles, plus a 55" 3D HDTV and still manage to have at least $3500 left over, you get a desktop with a cool looking case and xbox360 built-in. I mean for goodness sakes you can get a brand new Toyota Corolla for that price. The logic is absent with this one.
