![]() The release date I have for it in NZ is 8 December, but it has been moved back by continuously since the news item about it being announced on 28 February (with the initial release date of 28 April). The wiki also says the date varies between 8 December, 1 January 2007, and 31 January. My bet is it will never be released. |

![]() Yeah it is a shame. I guess we could all still be surprised if they actually get it done on one of these supposed release dates, but it has had so many release dates already and still nothing. |

![]() Its coming , Just taking some time too port and you would need a controller to play it like how its meant to be played. PS2/Gamecube ports never usually have a good Keyboard and mouse support like : Devil May cry 3 , Final Fantasy 7 ect ... so get your self a cheap $10 USB Dual shock controller or use the PC XBOX 360 controller which is what i use. |

![]() Gearbox, right? 50/50 it's ****. Halo wasn't BAD, but they screwed up the multiplayer portion. No co-op for one, terrible lag for the other. At least without patches... |

![]() Well we know all of the features: Low Res Textures,No Mouse Support and No D-Pad configuration (although you will be able to map the other buttons). The port was done a long time ago from Capcom (in fact they ported DMC3.5,Onimusha and RE4 at the same time). Ubisoft is ONLY the Publisher and they simply have a release schedule and that's why they didn't release them all at the same time (it would hurt the sales.Common sense). Don't get excited,it will be another worthless port and that's a fact

![]() Right. I was wrong. Known to happen every so often... Anyway: Yeah... Capcom and ports is usually bad news. Onimusha 3 played like crap, I have yet to hear any good of DMC4's port job, and RE4... How can they mess it up!? HOW!? Seriously: Dual-layer DVD > Gamecube's minidisc. There's no way it can be any less prettiful. It's got to be gorgeous. And play well. I won't allow anything else. |

I'm not sure how it'll be on PC. Like it was kinda fun on GC, but compared to some PC games, its kinda poor (predictable and gameplay got tedious after a while). Also I'm not sure if the controls will translate well with the whole can't move and shoot thing.

![]() DMC3 port sucked. The silent hill ports were excellent though. So were Metal Gear ports. Cold Fear was fine too. I know I am confusing devs here but in general ps2 ports control schemes takes some getting used to. DMC3 was the only example of a port that I haven't been able to play. |

![]() The MGS2 port was horrible, what are you talking about? And the MGS1 port was fair, nothing more. It just ran, it wasn't anything special. |

![]() No, not that, I mean how they were ported. MGS was fine, it played well but it was a simple port, nothing new and shiny. MGS2 on the other hand was manhandled, didn't work for ATI cards, and still runs like **** on anything less than a 6800. |

and the mgs2 thing, when it first came out it was nvidia cards only, a patch was later released to allow ati card access, but the port still sucks. |

![]() Aargh, I did not remember silent hill 4: the room (I actually do not consider it to be a silent hill game), you are right, that port sucked. As far as MGS2 is concerned, I played it on 9700 Pro and 9800 Pro and it was quite playable. I finished it also. Now I know you people have problems with gamepads (and compatibility), but I did not have any w/ keyboard only so, yes it was fine for me. |

![]() The only problem with the gamepad I had on MGS2 was the slightly goofy 'put the gun away' button system that had to be used since the PC version doesn't support analog buttons. As for Silent Hill 4, the game is capped at 30fps which is fairly standard, the only problem I had with that the port is that the cutsceens are capped at 15fps. |

![]() Yes, that's correct - the game was at 30fps, but the cutscenes were capped at 15 - probably the most bizarre porting artifact I've ever come across. |
