![]() I install new Visiontek Radeon X1950 Pro AGP card with Catalyst Drivers 8.6 download from visiontek site my question is it’s running very very hot only when I playing a game I touch on top of copper plate its dam hot if that hot I don’t think this card long last my power supply 430W is about 5 years old On visiontek site say 450 Watt power supply or greater recommended is this part of my card problem do I need to change the PSU? My computer specifications are Intel DPERL865 socket 478 3.4GHz extreme processors 4GB ram Two 10k rpm HD Two dvd rom drive One floppy drive Zalman CNPS7700-Cu heatsink Visiontek Radeon X1950 Pro AGP Three 80mm fan Two 120mm fan |

![]() The PSU should be enough, specially if there aren't instability problems, and it hasn't to do with the vcard's temperatures in any case. I once had a vcard without fan (by design), and it's GPU heatsink was very hot to touch, so I managed to attach a fan. 2 or 3 years afterwards, coincidentally, I discovered that there was a mass of dust accumulated between the heatsink and the fan, that was preventing the fan from spinning and (I suppose) hindering the heat dissipation. But the vcard was working perfectly, lol. X1950's are hot, that's normal. Mine is at about 50ºC idle and at 70ºC at load (room at 27ºC, load temps depend quite a bit on the game).
