![]() Alright I don't quite understand this. Why would ATI release this driver set? It seriously sucks unless they've changed something (if so I would imagine the version number would have changed). |

![]() I just installed them on my other rig, and in XP they are real shady. I am not sure how they can support these babies, but I get terrible flashing/missing textures in MOHAA and it kicks me to the desktop every once in a while. That's all I've tested so far. Performance is on par, but it's not worth the trouble so far.

![]() Yeah these drivers are the exact same set previously leaked, and OpenGL sucks. I don't see why ATI does this crap. They would have been better off supporting the 6043's. |

![]() These are the same WHQL ones as previously released by Sapphire Tech. The filesize is smaller because ATI stripped the WDM capture drivers from these. The WDM drivers can be found when searching for Vivo or DV cards on the ATI page... Initially the 6037 set performed quite well and shoudn't have texture corruptions. Be sure to do a clean install...

![]() Yeah you probably need to go through a OS instalation in order to get all of the registry clean. ATI Drivers do such a great job at filling up you registry with bunch of crap that it takes you hours to clean it up, if you do it manualy. So I think that after you instal your OS and all of your apps do a backup of your system and then install the ATI Drivers, that way you can always do restore, if something goes wrong or if you want to install new drivers. Its much faster than going throught the whole Format - Install procedure... |

![]() I just can't believe ATI would again release another buggy driver.. Don't they pay attention to this forum ??? And by the way David I do believe you said these driver's would fix most of the bug's and the poly/texture bug. Ati again a day late and a dollar short.:ugh: :ugh: :ugh: :ugh: :ugh: :ugh: :ugh: :ugh: :ugh: :ugh:

![]() Any software you install on your system can be uninstalled just fine, it just takes a little know how, which is why several people have written detailed instructions on completely removing Radeon drivers. (Assuming you are using XP.. if not now's a good time to upgrade)

![]() question for you guys. if the newer betas WERE NOT leaked, would u still be complaining about the drivers ATI puts out? YES. i say. ![]() BTW instead of looking for anything ATI in the registry, go find the 2 core registry threads and delete THEM. (there are 2 of them, 3 if u have the demos installed). Delete the entire string and your left having to reinstall ATI drivers, reinstall MMC and reboot. Hours? I dont konw about that...

![]() This move makes NO SENSE AT ALL. Good God! i know those Hozers over at Ati read this forum. EVERYONE knows these are one of the worst driver sets. Numerous issues, in fact not one redeeming quality i can think of. The idea that they think they are keeping there promise to release new drivers by releasing KNOWN POS drivers like this is just unbelievable. what kills me is now Ati will complain that there is no pleasing us. "damned if you do damned if you dont".. I can here it now. The problem is they KNOW these drivers are pathetic before they even released them. There is simply no excuse. They should have released some form of the 6043 set. [personal note] I cant wait to here what David's excuse for this move is. After all he stated about 3 weeks ago that the HPB fixed driver would be released by Ati in 3-4 weeks. Someone has got there wires crossed. Sorry folks i could not resist the opportunity to point out that our *insider* is wrong yet AGAIN. Like the HPB driver (6043) fixed the Doom issue Etc,,, Etc,,,, Last edited by Hellbinder : Mar 20, 2002 at 05:39 PM. |

![]() OK stupid question time. The wdm drivers are for the capture capabiilities of the AIW cards, right? If so then, they used to be part of the full driver install, i.e., the 6025 betas that they released a few weeks ago? If I didn't install these wdm capture drivers, then I am assuming that I could not capture. So if I can capture then they are installed, right? So if I have pretty good performance in games (no problems) and am very happy with the combination of the 6025's, the MMC 7.6 and theater mode working, then I shouldn't worry about this new driver set too much? Not trying to be ignorant, but the combo of drivers/MMC that I have right now are great and they work beautifully with theater mode enabled. Not with the 6043's that were leaked and I am not 100% that these are more compatible for what I want/need. What are the major improvements? OpenGL is a minimal player for me. Too poor to buy any good games I guess ![]() Sorry to be such a newbie and thanks to anyone who can make it through my diatribes. It is a disorder or something. ![]() |

![]() ShaSha: You don't have to worry about these drivers. As someone said above (sorry, i don't look at the names unless I need to know who it is, unless it says "SASQUACH" in the sig somewhere), these drivers are *extremely* crappy. Keep the ones you have!

![]() You all have to remember that if we never got leaked the 6043 and the 6052 set, these 6037 set would be the latest ones! I used the 6037 set and they worked fine for me...mind you that the HPB was still present, but overall they were good. As it stands now, the next ATI released driver (meaning posted on ATI's web site) will include the HPB fix in them. So please don't start complaining why ATI released these drivers if the 6043 is out and so is the 6052 set. Enjoy what you have!

![]() Actually I was using those drivers. Those are good, i didn't have any bugs. Of course they didn't fix opengl, but ej this is good for a month we had two official releases and three unofficial. What do you want. For a few weeks we will see official 6052 drivers, and certainly we will have new beta drivers maybe 6070 whatever ![]() |

![]() You guys have to realize that you need to compare these OFFICIAL drivers with the last OFFICIAL drivers. If it is still the case that these newer ones are worse than the older official ones, then maybe you just might have some minute reason to complain. |

![]() The 9016's posted on ATI's site are the same 9016's that leaked a few weeks ago. These 9016 drivers still have the following issues: 1) They mess up the registry much like the 9013's by disabling stencil buffer, z/w/table fog in the registry every time you make a change in the Direct3D tab of advanced display properties. 2) They have a bug carried over from over 900x/90xx leaks that causes missing textures that will show as solid black polygons in some OGL games (MOHAA). My best advice to those willing to use betas is the *try* the 9021 leaked set as these do not have either of the above listed problems, as well as improvements to OGL. ATI should have simply public released the 9021's as these are definately the best set yet for my system. I do have a couple friends that experience system freezes with the 9021's, but the 9013s and 9016s run fine. These are basically owners of non-Asus/non-Abit VIA KT133/KT133A chipset mobos and Athlon/T-bird/Duron PC's and the system lock-up only occurs in a rare handful of D3D games and it's random in when it occurs. So, when trying the 9021's, be sure to accept these betas may lock-up your machine. If you encounter no lockups, I think you'll find them to be the best ones yet. EDIT- Ack, I should have added for UT players.. The 9013's appear to be the last drivers that support S3TC/Disk 2 textures when using the Loki OGL renderer. Obviously, if you are a fan of the new textures, the 9013's are your best bet as the 9016's and 9021's simply wont enable the S3TC textures on my PC... they work great with the 9013's though. ![]() The best combo for al AIW users is still 6025 + MMC 7.6 .these new once 6037and their WDM 5118 **** up pause live tv and the 3d part still has missing stuff on the AIW Radeon DDR.Also TV quality is degraded compared to 6025. Ill try 6043 with 6025s WDMs and see if it works ! Whish me luck! ![]() |
