Default 10.5 active display port issues

I installed 10.5 and immediatly started getting alot of blinking from my active display port monitor. I had this same problem with 10.4 so for now I am sticking with 10.3 but I am officially concerned now. 2 of the newest drivers do not worth with my eyefintiy configuration. I could totally wipe my whole OS or atleast driver clean all of the ati files off my pc and start totlaly fresh but it is a major endeavor doing that with an eyefinity configuration. Color matching being the big factor. '

Has anyoen with an eyefinity config using an Active Display Port adapter try 10.5?

interesting so you switched your active display port adapter with a dvi adapter for the install, turned off your pc and switched back to the active display port adapter and all was good?

I had the same problem with 10.4 pre and whql. 10.5 whql is no better. Grey "interference" lines, blinking then goes to sleep. Doesn't wake up.

I am SICK and TIRED of this MESS. This issue wasn't present with pre 10.3 drivers.

Why break something if it there were no issues with it?

What "hacks" do end users have to apply to try and get things working until "next driver release"?

On your problem DisplayPort issues with an "active" adapter, just go get a passive DisplayPort -> VGA adapter and you won't have the flickering/lost screens/display corruptions you're dealing with now.

Believe me, I went through that with the ACCELL Active adapter to DVI and took mine back for a refund. I've since put my DisplayPort screen on a DP->VGA adapter made by Monster and have been in Eyefinity bliss for over a week now.

AND...most important, at the native resolution of my DP screen, I can't tell the difference between DVI and VGA. Scouts honor!

Headaches and hair-pulling are all over with.

Well, fine, if it works for you... But I can definitely see a huge difference in the picture quality when using VGA, especially when on 1920x1200 or x1080 resolutions.

For the topic: Had no problems with the various 10.4 releases on native Displayport monitors here. Didn't have time to install final 10.5 though.

I haven't had any DP adapter issues with either 10.4 or 10.5.

so your using an active dp adapter and 10.4 and 10.5 keep blinking on you right? If so I am not the only one and it has to be a problem at the driver level because 10.3 works great. Besides the stuttering and or screen tearing with crossfinity in some games. Dudes.. AMD please fix that issue with 10.6!!.. I dont feel liek buying a new monitor... so Imma be stuck with 10.3 for a while.

Monitor doesn't blink, it just goes black after a few minutes of loading up windows and doesn't come on again.

Even if the monitor comes on again because I change some monitor setting in CCC, it just blacks out again in a minute or so.

I'm using 10.5 CCC and 8.73 betas atm and that combo doesn't black out.

I'm using 8.73 betas because that one doesn't stutter in CrossFireX+Eyefinity unlike 10.3b and earlier drivers. Drivers 8.732 and up don't stutter but do black out.

Don't use v-sync with CrossFireX+Eyefinity, for some reason it thinks you're using a 120 hrz monitor and caps fps at 120 instead of 60 and it delays/syncs frames it shouldn't adding stutter to what should be smooth flowing images.

I have noticed that 120hz issue and its been there for atleast the last 3 driver versions. Do they just not know about it? wtf. I am assuming if you turn off v-sync your going to get alot of tearing anyway so does it really matter if you disable v-sync? I will try it when I get home later. I might try updating my mobo's bios too.. maybe thats conflicting with my cards somehow. But that could bring a whole new set of issues. hmmm decisions.

can you link the beta drivers your using? Are they better than catalyst 10.3 whql version?

They're better because they don't stutter in eyefinity+cfx, but sometimes I get a garbeled mouse pointer on one of the monitrors(not in games though).

Never used 10.3 whql, only preview 10.3b.
