![]() Pretty good summary of what we know so far. It's going to be really interesting to see what architectural decisions ATI made with R600. |

![]() Is there an AMD/ATI link that says all this "factual" information? Also, there is already an R600 thread, an "Official" one at that. ![]() |

![]() I hope it should called X2800 as R600...R680 is X2900. ![]()

![]() So I can't buy an x2900 XT or XL until early May? I think I may end up buying an 8900GT or GS, if they're out sooner. My budget's around $300, will ATI have anything in that range to compete with an 8800GTS or 8900GT/GS?

![]() Personally don't care what the name is but understand the importance of a number scheme; as this offers some level of structure for the consumer to easily understand generation and performance. As with any company, there is exceptions to this rule; as older generation products are renamed. Quad Stealth seems to be a bit interesting considering this is the first time I have read the name. Who thinks of these names? Quad Stealth, hehe! ![]() ![]() |

![]() Maybe "Quad Stealth" is referring to having four PCI Diamond Stealth cards?

![]() Until ATI/AMD has a page dedicated to the X2900 on their companies website nothing that anyone says has any fact. The only thing we know for sure is the 512Bit Bus as stated by the AMD rep at CES. All Dailytech did was state that all the rumored memory size blah blah is fact. ATI/AMD did not release any information. And we won't see anything until the end of March, possibly sooner.

![]() Is the R680 even confirmed to be in development / production? Or is it just what someone *thinks* will appear in say 6 months?

Both ATI and NV develop *multiple* GPUs concurrently. It just takes too long to design one GPU to put all your resources into designing one at a time. They have to have multiple design teams with overlapping development schedules. |

![]() If its debut is to be competitive with the GTX, then expect to see it anywhere from $699 to $849. |

![]() IMO the new card is called X2900 and not X2800 because, if you recall... the X1800 was an inmature product, and like 2 months later the X1900 came out and destroyed the previous card performance, which so many people bought with high hopes and left a bad taste. I believe AMD/ATI do not want to make the same mistake twice and deliver a mature product from day 1 (or maybe they may refresh it in two months time and screw their customers again) but we wont know until it happens... and if it does, they wont use the Xx900 again... |
