Windows Phone 7 gets xbox live arcade

Well this is the first mobile platform that I think can challenge the iOS.
If MS does it right then I can see this getting big.

If you want everything in a singel device then iphone is the way to go today. Until we see how windows phone 7 turns out

Well I wont replace my iphone 4 for 2 years so I will compare windows phone 7 and iOS then.

I still don't get the whole Windows Phone 7 deal..

Can we play old DirectX games on the darn thing (with modifications to the OS perhaps)? I know, stupid question, but would we be able to play xbox360 live arcade titles on a WP7 phone? If not, why the heck call it Xbox Live Arcade when it has absolutely nothing to do with the console?

There are all kind of android phones with every possible hardware configuration and android versions that dont get updated. Some even dont support multitouch beacuse of the crappy screen like the SE X10.

3. No games
Every big game developer is on the iphone and are leaving the android because #1 and #2

I'd like some other phones to have the number of quality apps the iphones do, but to me it doesn't seem that they do. I am not an expert, and maybe i am just following hype, but the iphone seems like it's better for gaming than any other phone out there. How are the screens on those other phones that are running android? Are they as responsive as the iphone? Curious because my one other experience with a non iphone touch screen was miserable.

1. in almost every country that counts, there are paid apps

2. to think that devs dont want to dev because there is too much hardware variety isn't very smart since the operating system (the part that counts) is the same in every case. If anything, the hardware variety opens up the app market to people who can't afford or don't want the more expensive phones.

3. that's not true in the least. im beginning to think you've never even browsed the Android market.

And I don't know of any devs leaving the iPhone for Android. Sure, the commercial dev community isn't as large, but it is growing.

Id like to take a look at the android store personally though. Ive read from numerous people that its horribly designed and hard to navigate.

1. so every country that isnt on that list is a country that sucks? that it is a third world country and cant even buy phones? Not that scandinavia has some of the best countries in the world but whatever

2. The OS is not the same.. there is everything from 1.5 to 2.2. Its like saying windows 95 and windows 7 are the same. The phone manufacturers dont need to update their phones its all up too them.

I was never sure if WinMO 7 was going to be updated to my phone. Maybe some ROM chefs, will port it anyway.

I am happy about having Android though.

I got my WarDrive app, and Google Nav now. Google Goggles is fun to play with. and I still get the awesome camera and screen of the HD2.

Maybe I'd be more bothered if I actually gamed more than 10 minutes a week on my phone

As for the app market, I don't understand in the least how anyone could have trouble using it. The only thing missing is the ability to navigate itself
