Games Finished June 2022

In our 5th year doing this it is amazing how many members are participating throughout. I hope it has helped you as it helped me keeping my backlogs in check while enjoying my games.

As many have seen, I have completed a lot of games last year and still managed to do my hobbies, take care of family, career and the occasional travel (not counting 2020).

Not every month someone will be finishing a lot, as there are months where a person just can't finish anything. Then you got that streak going in another month.

Also, if you plan to replay the game, it is fine but don't repeat it at a later month as first completion is what counts.

Another thing is the criteria of what is considered completed in unclear games such as team based multiplayer games; I would say set a target for that. E.g. I considered Overwatch completed when I reached level 100. Or when I finished story mode (which was a long movie sequence) in Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator. You decide what you consider is completed as long as it is reasonable to a certain extend and correlate-able to a single player experience.

DLC completed at a separate time from the main game and has enough content (+1 hour) can be counted as a separate completion.

Console completions can be accepted as long as the main focus is still PC overall.

Still a lot of Lost Ark. Getting addictive.

Other than that:
687-Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge: Great game with the whole family. We played 5 player and finished story mode. Plan to replay every now and then.

7 this month, good to start back with some free time again.

Super Crate Box - decent enough platformer - price is right

Super Kitty Boing Boing - Cute fun 4 player local but irritating enough to say this was made by a 12 year old girl high on sugar (and maybe LSD)

Taiku Mansion - OK to subpar point and click adventure. Better than the mostly negative indicates, but not by much.

Take the Dream IX - RPG Maker game - price was right (again)

Tengami - Another point and click puzzler but this time really good. On sale now for under $2 CDN so worth it to me.

Super Mega Neo Pug & Super Space Pug - Swear to Cthulhu that I had done all my "pug" games and these two show up in my list. I'm beginning to think that they are reproducing like some sort of sentient steam curse. That's the last of them on my system. If anymore show up I know IT'S ALIVE!

Other:
Not really a game MIRAGE is a decent enough visualizer to run with your music. Was free when I got it and now has a price ... so no idea what that is about. If it goes free again, worth a try. Can be run in non-VR mode.

I've put good time in Elden Ring and started MotoGP22, but haven't finished either by a long shot. So zero games finished this month for me, but not for a lack of trying.

Book of Unwritten Tales 2 - Decent p'n'c with a reasonable sense of humour.
Norco - Interesting narrative p'n'c but I thought it lost it in the final act.
Kine - Cute puzzle game though a bit too much trial and error.
Rebel Inc., Escalation - Alright but shallow RTS.
Citizen Sleep - so-so narrative.
Project CARS - Still more I could have done but after 60hrs I was ready to move on.
Budget Cuts 2 - Short VR stealth game.
Tangle Tower - Cute mystery with mini-games.
Unforeseen Incidents - P'n'c mystery.
Fantasy General II - Not bad but some poor mechanics and weak missions held it back.

So 10 I'm claiming though there were also two more very short p'n'c (The Librarian, How We Know We're Alive) but they're not worth counting.

Not bad overall though not sure how it caim to be so dominated by point 'n click.

The Ascent. Great game with a couple of annoying spots. That said, it's one of few games that I went back and played for multiple hours after finishing. Looking forward to the DLC with green achievements.

Aperture Desk Job. If it worked on Steam Deck the first time, I wouldn't count it. This was a month long chore of Steam Updates breaking it and me not knowing what I was doing qrong (nothing). For a game made for Steam Deck it sure made me feel regrets about my purchase. Valve did not make themselves look competent here.

1 - Zombie Army Trilogy - liked the game at first, but it ended up dragging on too long. It would have been better as a duo with the first chapter and the last chapter I think.

Did you play alone or in co-op? There's a big difference in fun factor.

I played co-op. I don't think I'd have enjoyed the game much at all solo. I still felt like it was a bit too long. I did enjoy it for the most part, but there just wasn't enough variety in enemies in the first two chapters and it started to drag toward the end of the second. Chapter 3 switched things up and was clearly a higher quality than the first two, so things picked up again in the last third, but I was also glad when I made it to the end.

I guess its a game not for everyone.

Personally I love it. Zombie Army 4 as well. My brothers and I play them a lot and we compete to see who gets the highest score. Love the combo system.

Might also be because there are no good games out. Heck only one I remember this year is Horizon 2. Everything else wasn’t exciting for me to indulge.

BOUT 1+2 were both good. Critter Chronicles didn't do it for me. Partly because Nate wasn't an especially likeable character, but simply it just didn't engage the way the other two did. I agree that it would be a shame if we don't get a third game.

That said, it's one of few games that I went back and played for multiple hours after finishing. Looking forward to the DLC with green achievements. Aperture Desk Job. If it worked on Steam Deck the first time, I wouldn't count it. This was a month long chore of Steam Updates breaking it and me not knowing what I was doing qrong (nothing). For a game made for Steam Deck it sure made me feel regrets about my purchase. Valve did not make themselves look competent here.
