Default My New BenQ BL3200PT

Wednesday night my 27" AOC died, so I had to get a new monitor. Figured I might as well get the one I've been wanting for the past year, and it's finally below $500 ($499.99 to be exact )

Sorry to disappoint the gamers out there, it's not ultrawide, it's 16:9, and it's a 60hz panel. But I do very little FPS gaming and I'm not obsessed with frame rates. Which is a good thing b/c it is going to make my GTX670 choke until summertime card replacement. But I just got it set up, and first impressions are....WOW

This mofo is HUGE. The jump from 24" to 27" was nothing like this. My six year old came in the room right as I was setting it on the desk and he said "OH MY GOD!!!" and ran out of the room. Fifteen seconds later he was back with the 13 year old who said "that's not a monitor, you got a TV!"

The disclaime I need to put on all this gushing is that I have bad eyes, they only correct to about 20/50. People complain about pixels per inch on 27" 1080p displays, they look OK to me. I wanted a bigger screen for me, but since my wife uses my computer late at night, I figured a 32" 1080p would make reading hard for her (althought probably still fine with me). However, I can say that I have read a few word/pdf files and the text looks great. I have had to zoom in on certain text heavy web pages, will NOT have to do that with this screen.

Colors are incredible. The screen real estate just goes on and on. I may never pivot it into portrait mode, but the swivel/rotate/tilt features of the stand are awesome.

TL;DR version----Go buy this monitor. It's great.

Oh, and this is from the "last thing I purchased" thread":

It's pretty damn white. I need sunglasses to look at this thing.

I'm not shipping to land down unda again. Last time I did it cost me a fortune in shipping through Koala Express and took a month to get there. Ask demo...

Dibs on the 290 that might work properly before wabbit can claim :3

I live in US but I'd still pay shipping

Also the link shenanigans could be the issue lupine was having with viglink hijacking. He posted about it in the feedback forum. http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?p=1337827946

They 295 and 290 were gone ages ago. Replaced with 980's and the the TRI-SLI TitanX.

Seriously wabbit linked Amazon and is getting Office Depot while I'm getting Newegg? It has to be region based.

Pretty good timing. One of our old 24" LG pivots just bit the dust. I've been trying to convince the boss that he needs a new monitor so I can go back to 2 monitors. Since he loves portrait mode (yes us accountants are strange) it's been a PITA. They are either 2x the price of landscape or are unavilable.

Now if they can get this monitor under $650 CDN I may be able to sell him on it. Otherwise I'm getting a $99 21" replacement for the time being. Booooooooo

I just realized you meant a gtx295 not a r9 295

where's that 980 at?

really liking this screen the morning after....I've always thought, incorreclty apparently, that I couldn't tell the difference between a cheap and expensive (for me) monitor. But either this screen is really really great or my old one was really really that bad. I'm happy, regardless.

I Haven't had much experience with anything over 1080 other than the cheap 1440 monitor at my work and I reckon it looks good.

I'd love To update my monitor but that would require me to update my GPUs so I'm not quiet ready to drop $3000 just yet.

No it was a R9 295x2 + MSI 290X OC. Garbage due to drivers.
