night can beat 'Minesweeper' on any difficultynight can beat 'Minesweeper' on any difficulty

Default warhammer:dow

ok, i finally got around to playing this and im not done yet, but ive seen more than enough to say this is like 80% war3.

we got the humans, orcs, some weird 'undead' and some techno elves.
we have the 'undead' trying to raise some ancient power all while using the orcs as pawns.
and of course the techno elves being the protectors, while the humans are oblivious to pretty much everything.
i mean we even have a guy running around with a big a$$ hammer.

i would almost put money on this being the war3 engine, cept i know bliz doesnt do that.

so basically not a bad game on its own, but its huge case deja vu

Multiplayer is fun for about an hour, but the rest of the game just suxors, especially the single player part.

FYI, both Warcraft and Starcraft are heavily influenced by the Warhammer series.

The only thing WC3 has going for itself is the hype and the custom maps. The hype is dead so only the custom maps are keeping WC3 alive.
The W40K DOW engine > WC3 engine

I was glad that Dawn of War had a decent engine supporting it, it didn't bother me that it wasn't revolutionary I was more interested in the content, having been a fan of the tabletop game years ago and Dawn of War doesn't disappoint there. From the fantastic opening movie to the extremely well detailed models to the superb animations, the game doesn't disappoint as a Warhammer game - I just love watching the battles in action as psykers throw troops down with their bright energy attacks, the dreadnoughts thump across the battlefield tearing the troops to shreds etc. and underneath it all you've still got a decent, enjoyable RTS game. I was playing it a lot over the lan at home with my younger brother over Christmas, still having a lot of fun with it.
