Purchased a 1300 W psu about 8 years ago. Best 229 I ever spent. Not sure what the fuss is about 500-750 watts graphics cards. Can easily run on a 1000-1300 watts PSU which are always reasonably priced.

yea nothing like having a 750 watt NVidia hair dryer

and if the 7970 xt does tops out at 450 watts and is faster NVidia will have a problem

I can see something that high with potentially some over clocked editions but not by default. Think the rumors are too much sensationalism and conflating things.

I'm not a customer with that kind of potential wattage and price anyway.

If the performance is there, will carry down to the cheaper derivatives down the stack. Have my eye on a 4070 and hopefully offer Rtx 3090+ performance with sensible pricing and wattage. Looking forward to more 4k+ performance, efficiency with Ray Tracing and quality with Dlss.


I doubt you can refrain yourself not buying Amd's chiplet design next round.

I agree with that! FSR 1.0 is fine as long as the anti-aliasing component is high quality with a flexible sharpening ability. Really limited based on it doesn't really offer any reconstruction and anti-aliasing components. Hopefully, 2.0 addresses these limitations and can go beyond native rendering at times. Looking forward to Amd discussing upscaling very soon.

Amd has proven they can compete strongly with native rendering and may even surpass Nvidia next round. Looking forward to see how much efficiency they can offer and improve with Ray Tracing next round.

unless gpu mining does die you won't get one at MSRP anyway on the NV side
and you might get a 4080 FE for 1199 MSRP

4080 ti will be 1500+ and a 4090 will be north of 2000

i just hope RDNA 3 is as bad at mining as this time or worse

Hopefully with Intel entering the market place may provide some needed competition and may affect pricing and much needed volume of products.
