![]() TIA guys. I'm looking for 1Mbit ADSL for use in SE London during the weeknights and potentially all the time on weekends, for a SIX month term (before I leave for overseas again), ideally with unmetered or at least 6Gb/mth caps. I have confirmed that my exchange will support DSL. Any suggestions from those of you that have 'em ? I've been referred to Bulldog in particular, and they seem pretty OK - Prime Time 1000 plan, which caps the rate to 512K before 6PM weekdays, and full speed weeknights and weekends. They have a 3 month contract option, for an extra £30 - so £60 for 6 months, which stings a bit ! I know, better than most of the others, who don't have anything less than 12 months and charge an exorbitant fee for cancelling earlier. Virgin seem the next best option, because they've got no contracts. But they are 512K, and I can't for the life of me find out what download caps they have on their one £25/mth plan. Any Virgin DSL users out there with your thoughts ? I've been told by one person that Virgin's DSL is prone to mucho downtime though ... is this true ? Sorry to land this one in your laps, but I'm keen to get this up and running ASAP, and need feedback on the ground. Cheers !

![]() I would stay away from Virgin, I've a couple of friends who went with them and their service is very poor at times. I don't know what they officially cap their transfers at, but they've sent warnings out that they've capped the connection at 6GB/month (friend was doing a lot of downloading!) but they haven't gone any further yet. The problem is that BT charges 58 pounds inc VAT (or around that) for each ADSL connection which is why the ISPs have to pass that on to you or make sure you are connected long enough for them to make some profit out of you.
