Candyman is still being judged by the masses

Default This is odd.....

I am using the official 6071 driver set from ATI and I just finished installing FIFA World Cup 2002 soccer game on my PC. Excited to play, I ran the game. I noticed that there was less flicker than usual so I checked the refresh rate on the game and was shocked to see that it was at 75Hz and not the usual 60Hz. I rebooted the machine and tried again and 75Hz was still there. I am not complaining in any way, however, I was shocked to see that the refresh rate was maintained. I always thought that any game under XP would run at 60Hz unless you use a refresh rate fix program (which I do not use).

Anyone else experience this?

BTW, I am using the Beta 2 VIA 4-1 drivers (4.39).

its a Direct3D game, d3d defaults to 75Hz, unlike opengl which defaults to 60
to get it even higher:
Run -> dxdiag
more help tab
override button
choose the refresh rate you want d3d to default to, if the monitor doesnt support it, it'll go down to 60 in game

Is your monitor refreshing at 75hz optimal? If it is thats great! Or if you can go higher go to the registry. Go into "hkey_local_machine", then "software', then "ati technologies", then "drivers", then "0000", then "dal" and modify "IDCRegOptionDontUseOSMonitorInfo" to 0. maybe that may help.
