well...I have to say that I'm impressed. it's clearly a lot faster than the 9800XT.

in farcry the 6800ultra (with 4XAA) gets 58.4 fps. the 9800XT gets 36.8, so it's good to see that Nvidia has put out a strong product.

The card is definitely fast

It's night over at the US, noone will notice Thx for the merge

p.s. I wonder why they didn't test higher AA modes... I know that when I get my hands on a X800 I will play at full AA/AF and not at 4xAA/8xAF...

But will you play at playable speeds?

Why would you know that?

Do you really have any doubt that these cards will have playable speeds? I don't...

i guess those numbers are all with brilinear? Their AF seems a little to aggressive shows Texture Aliasing.

Overall it seems very good , 4AA still not up to par with ATI's 4x , i would also like to see some higher AA modes.

2previews and no shadermark

Anything over 4x AA on NV4x will be mixed MSAA and SSAA, hence killing performance.

Brandon did a pretty solid job, as he usually does at FiringSquad.

Still, I would like to know what the max draw of this card is going to be.
Surely over 100 wats, don't you think? Perhaps 130-140? More?

Holy crapola

I think nVidia got the message that their Geforce FX Pixel shader 2.0 scores were bad

Yup, exactly. Same as the FX series.

I would like to see those scores compared to the 9800xt.

Yeah, not a bad review at all. Although I'd like to know why he ran most of the 3DMark03 tests at 800x600?

He also messed up with his references to brilinear, I don't think he realised that can be disabled in the driver control panel with NV4x. Suprised he didn't use 16x aniso either, don't think he even mentioned it.

A little thing called driver cheats.

Although to be honest, I'd be wary of even comparing different generations of nVidia card in 3DMark03 without certified drivers.

Even with the cheats i would be interested.

I would like to know if the tests were run at full precision at least...

Wait for the 3DCenter-Reviews. There will be tests in resolutions higher than 1600x1200.

That's actually very good news. So far the reviews i've seen bench the nV40 like it's a previous generation product. Which is a mistake. Why should 1600x1200 be the upper barrier?

Wow those scores are quite impressive, tough to beat. How long before we start seeing ATI's R420 benchies?
