You know the saying when you got to go. You got to go. Well if you are in Allentown you better not urinate in public because you never know who may be watching.

They look like scenes out of Punked or Candid Camera. But these are no pranks. What you are looking at is punishment for public pee-ers.

Fed up with a parade of people urinating outside their Allentown store in broad daylight, 2 owners who didn't want to be identified took matters into their own hands rigging up a camera and shower head in the back ally. What they get is a lot of water and a little revenge. You got to admit it's pretty funny.

A motion detector on the security cameras alert the owner someone has come to "do business". Here's the fun part, a pipe drilled through the wall is connected to a high pressure water line and with one turn of the valve.

For 3 months the potty vigilante's have been catching and recording dozens people. Not just men, but women and children.

They've caught so many people going; they even keep a score card of how many people they drench.

The owners admit they're having a little fun doing this. They even have plans to upgrade the system to monitor cameras from home. They say soon enough violators will get the message.

Doubt it would work as they are peeing on private property. Doubly so especially if they have a "no trespassing" sign nearby.

Depends. If injury is caused by a prank they have a VERY strong case. Lets not forget that there is a lot of precidence of cases where tresspassers are injured on private property and win a suit. It is also similar to the case where a bar owner got in trouble for booby trapping his bar to prevent burglars. Although one was killed in that case, but still.

Difference is they have all of the evidence on video. It wouldn't look good for anybody who would try to sue.

Seriously. I co-worker's friend was caught urinating behind a dumpster by a police officer. The police officer gave him a citation, and this friend paid the fine for public urination, and was later put on the Sex Offenders list. He now has to introduce himself to neighbors as a sex offender when ever he moves, but he cannot tell them what he did to get on the list.

Every American state keeps a register of sex offenders. California has had one since 1947, but most states started theirs in the 1990s. Many people assume that anyone listed on a sex-offender registry must be a rapist or a child molester. But most states spread the net much more widely. A report by Sarah Tofte of Human Rights Watch, a pressure group, found that at least five states required men to register if they were caught visiting prostitutes. At least 13 required it for urinating in public (in two of which, only if a child was present). No fewer than 29 states required registration for teenagers who had consensual sex with another teenager. And 32 states registered flashers and streakers.
