I’ve had the consumer Rift since it came out and I don’t notice the difference of the Quest being 72hz. The freedom it provides > the improved graphics on PC as well. I can’t wait to take it out into a big open field. I do prefer the original touch controllers though.

Ok the few months turned into a couple of weeks. Got the 128GB one, and the interface and the whole thing is sooooo good

Love not having to deal with base stations, so so nice.

Just tried ALVR to stream my Steam to my PC while I wait for the usb C cable to come in the post for oculus link, damn it's actually pretty damn good almost looks as good as native, and no ****ing wires.

Seriously it's a good game

Also I like the vader games and many games from my steam VR. NO man's sky in vr is a great experience, I just need a much better you to get the best out of it all.

Well I bought and paid for Half-Life Alyx, Expensive for a VR game but hopefully its a full game which I would expect it to be. And hopefully it plays nicely wireless.

Only negative I've had with this headset, is it's so ****ing uncomfortable at times, I've put a counter weight on, a silicon face cover. I've ordered a headstrap replacement cover and thinking of getting VR Cover style replacement facemask.

I'm wondering if anyone at Oculus as ever used the headset more than 2 seconds.

I've even adjusted the straps to maximum length, alas still destroys my face.

I put a large battery back on the back for a counterweight, and added a strap that goes over the top. Also sometimes I need to re-adjust the angle of the front hinges... it's easy to forget about those. I can usually get it comfortable, but every once in awhile I'll have a day where my face is extra sensitive for some reason.

So Audica is available on Quest now and from what I read you can drop custom maps through Sidequest into it.

Any of you play this? I'm not sure if I need a Beat Saber replacement.

I think it looks interesting as well but don’t really want to spend $30 on it so doubt I play it before a big price break which could be a while. If it becomes popular though it appears those games hardly get price breaks.

Pavlov is available on Sidequest now for free. Textures look worse than a PS2 game at the moment, but it's getting there. I think the game just needs abit of an overhaul to really make it work on quest's rather limited memory pool for apps.(I think it's under 3Gb and that's shared with the GPU)

when are we going to get a really nice looking game on VR, like Red Dead, or GTA6 or Skyrim 2 or cyberpunk... all these fricken games look 20 years old, I just can't go back that far and really enjoy it...

Well the Quests hardware can't do it unless it's really targeted at the Quest. A game only gets to use 3 cores @ 2.45 GHz, Adreno 540 GPU and 2.97Gbs of shared memory. So your looking at specs below the PS4 and above a WiiU. Then it's gotta render around 1440x1600 per eye at around 72ish fps. That's a tough target, especially if your doing a port.

Anybody play this? How's the movement done in the game and are people experiencing motion sickness? I ask this because the guy is stationary and the avatar is moving around a bunch in game. When I played Robo recall, it was all teleporting, but I'm curious how it feels in games where your character moves (via a control stick I assume) but you don't.

Vader Immortal has a settings for this style of movement, where you could just use the stick to move. It's really off putting at first, but once you get used to it, it's great.

It's not the motion sickness that bothers me from stick controls, but that it breaks me out of the immersion, and makes me feel like I'm playing a video game... every time I'm taken out of the immersion, it makes me wish I was just playing on my normal computer screen with a mouse & keyboard.

Yea this is probably my only slight irritation with the Quest, it doesn't bother me that bad so I'm not going to go through all the extra stuff, Obviously a design flaw which you would have thought someone would have noticed while developing it.

I just fired up Lone Echo and believe that game looks good. I'm not a total graphics whore though, If it looks decent and is fun to play I don't really care that it doesn't look like a 2080 Ti in SLI at max settings.

VirtualDesktop keeps getting better, just installed the latest test build 1.9.5 and you can now launch Oculus store games without revive. He's also made the interface so you can call up SteamVR/VIVE/REVIVE platforms from within whatever VR program you are in at that time.

the facecover and headstrap at the back helped a lot, either that or I got a 6pack on my cheekbones/forehead.

Nice! How did you update? Just hook it up to sidequest or do you need to update the headset version first?

Heads up, if you are still using ALVR you may need to uninstall it as I read some people where having issues with it being installed.

I got it from the official discord channel, he pretty much said this is a test build but it seems to be working pretty well. He didn’t want it to be linked outside because of this, can’t control the internet though
