Haha yes. My new internets is awesome. Took 22 mins to download, 28 mins to unpack, 8 mins to load shaders and then I was in. Plays wonderfully at 4K on my 55 inch screen with a Xbox controller.

Geforce overlay tanks the FPS in this game, if you use a shader or just even open the overlay FPS drops by a lot.

edit: seems to be only specifically the shader section that tanks it.

Ok here's my pebble test question again. Are the pebbles, rocks and ground in general (and all graphics) just as sharp and detailed as in RDR2 and Death Stranding?

It's kind of hard to tell that in gameplay videos. And while we're at it does it have any areas with clear far distant views? I know the haze is realistic and good where it's appropriate but I'm hoping for a couple areas where the haze is lifted to the horizon or almost to it.

Yes and yes. It's hard to quantify, but IMO this game is as beautiful as RDR2. Can't speak for Death Stranding as I've never played it.

EDIT: actually the water in RDR2 is better, but this is still very good

Performance is "fine" at 3840x1600 on a 1080 ti, seems to run at about 45-5xFPS most of the time.

Some similarities I guess. Saves are done ether at campfires or auto-saved by the game at certain points. Lots of collecting/gathering. Crafting is easy and pretty intuitive. Not as hoppy/climby as AC games so far, though. I'm playing on normal mode until I get the hang of combat more. Very story-driven with lots of cut scenes.

Sounds about right, but I've only just started. It feels more hand-crafted than Far Cry, and Guerrilla really tries to get you to like the main character. So far so good.

Getting mixed reviews on Steam for now because of performance & crashing issues, but it's been rock solid for me. Time will tell if that changes, though.
