Thumbs up Swat 4, happy happy, joy joy

http://www.bluesnews.com/cgi-bin/boa...threadid=48586

I was so bummed after hearing Swat: UJ had pretty well died out.. although it was probably for the best, since I heard it was going to be nothing like Swat 3..

i'll over look the plastic hair and give them props for using dx9, nice to know that's what? The 7th game to use it now? lol. Look at the detail on each character, and then look at the buildings...like the first pic, the bricks are so faded and blurry, horrible texturing there....they put too much on the characters and not enough on the enviroment ala doom 3.

They're like hi-res XBOX screenshots. The game will come out next year so they've plenty of time to bring the graphics up to date

I still consider Swat3 to be far superior to ravenshield in gameplay. Pretty doesn't always make better..

Hell, I'd be happy with a new Swat game built on the old Swat3 engine if it was offered as a value game..

My worst fear is that they're going to screw up a good thing and this will be a crappy console port that plays nothing like Swat 3 did..

Don`t worry UJ was supossed to be action-heavy ..one of the reasons why it was canceled...so I doubt Swat4 will go this way. And console port? it`s irrational games...the same guys who when offered the chance to make Tribes3 as condition said "no console version" because they didn`t want to make any compromises. Don`t worry.... there`s no developer more trust worthy than irrational

methinks you are going to be proven severely wrong when doom3 finally ships. The screenshots I have seen show incredible attention to the environment

There's alot of atmosphere, shadowing, etc. But no detail to background.

Hahaa... LOL...

Interesting and humourous posts from everyone in this forum.
I'm a big fan of Tactical Shooter (not sure if that's the right genre).

Anyway, I like both RavenShield and Swat 3... yes... I admit.. even the Ps2 Swat version...
Ravenshield is very playable but Swat 3 has more options in 'breaching' doors. If only the AI in Ravenshield don't automatically go into a 'Holding' position after you gave them commands. I would prefer them to follow you automatically unless you tell them to hold.

AI in Swat 3... can't say much about it since it's a 4years old game so comparing it to Ravenshield which is only 1 year old is pretty pointless. It's very playable in which you can breach, bang , clear and many more options.

I've been waiting for a long time for a SWAT sequel and since they canned Urban Justice, I thought all hope is lost until the new announcement came. So this is good for all fans of Tactical shooters in my opinion.

As far as the graphics goes, it's no FarCry or Doom3 but in terms of lighting, it does remind me of HalfLife 2 screenshots in terms of lighting. Whatever the case, they do have a full year to go for polishing the game before releasing it so fingers-crossed.
