Ichneumon is still being judged by the masses

Default Rage3D - MechWarrior Online Beta Performance Analysis

This week we have something new and fun from Sean, with a first glimpse into our new benchmark methodology you'll be seeing more of here at Rage3D. You may have seen it before as introduced by the good folks over at the Tech Report , and Caveman-Jim will have much more to say on this in future articles with in-depth benchmarking.

In the mean time, enjoy this weeks MechWarrior Online Beta Performance Analysis where we go in-depth with the beta, using latency-focused testing methods to see where Piranha Games' mech title stands performance-wise.

Shelled out some hard earned to get Founder status. Been playing this title a LOT since then. Even with it's blaring bugs and performance issues it still holds promise even at the same time suffers from the F2P segment. Nevertheless something new to the BattleTech universe to play with

Frame times would be intersting to compare against differnt drivers if a very consistent benchmark is used.

Indeed. I am using 12.11 beta 11 + CAP 2 at the moment and seems to run OK. Sure there is some micro stuttering, but overall pretty decent performance. I hope drivers or application profiles will note this game as well.

I run with no v-sync and max graphics with med shadows. The frame time spikes shown in the graph is similar to what I'm getting. But for me, it is a noticeable stutter and I have a hard time dealing with it in a firefight. It's especially bothersome when you're in a moving circle fight; the enemy mech will look like they're warping. Fast moving light mechs are especially hard to hit when this happens.
