3D Performance

3D performance is only a part of the whole All-In-Wonder package, so I will only briefly go over it here while using a normal 9800 Pro as a performance reference point.

3D Performance Test Setup
Videocards ATI All-In-Wonder 9800 Pro
Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro
Drivers Catalyst 3.9
Catalyst 3.9 OGL Hotfix Release
Motherboard Shuttle MN31N
( nForce2 Ultra 400)
Processor AMD Athlon XP 2500+
( 1.8GHz Barton )
Memory 256MB Samsung PC2700 DDR
( Single Channel )
Hard-Disk 120GB Seagate Barracuda IV
Sound Disabled

I used the 3.4.0 patched version of 3DMark03 for testing. To keep in line with the 3DMark03 license agreement, I used the WHQL and Futuremark certified Catalyst 3.9 drivers for this test with both cards.

As you can see below, the scores for both cards are virtually identical, well within the 3% margin-of-error for 3Dmark03.

I benchmarked Enemy Territory using a batch file I created which runs three demos at 1024x768, 1280x1024, and 1600x1200 and then averaged the scores for those three demos to get the file score for that resolution. The demos used were battery.dm_82, radar.dm_82, and railgun.dm_82. I downloaded them all from 3Dcenter.org.

Enemy Territory is based on the Quake3 game engine which is easily the most popular OpenGL game engine ever. Because all AIW cards have OpenGL problems with the Catalyst 3.9 release, I used the newly released Catalyst 3.9 Hotfix drivers for both cards to test Enemy Territory. This Hotfix is available for download from ATI.com, but they are not WHQL certified.

Again you can see that the scores are virtually identical.
