What do you guys think? Could this be the MP FPS of the year?

I had low expectations from that scripted trailer but this actually looks good and fun.

Signed up for the beta, who knows I might get lucky.

The whole thing about this game was the destruction and it looks very limited. Only set places where you can break the wall and the ground. Depending on the price I may or may not pick it up.

Saw some of the livestream today, looks interesting. Bullets are pretty lethal and shooting seems pretty straightforward without much kick.... but because of the reinforcements and breaching options, there's a ton of avenues of attack and defense for even a single area of a given level. Mixes up gameplay a lot and takes sort of a CS style team setup with some planning tweaks into a much more dynamic environment.

The stream made it look a little like: take Office from CS, add a lower level and roof access. Give the terrorists ways to reinforce walls, block doors, setup shields, and monitor CCTV. Give the CTs breaching charges and observation drones. Make most of the environment destructible and shorten match length. Shooting is more CoD like, from what I saw.

So it's definitely not like CS :bleh:, but in terms of a game mode, there's a lot more potential for variety and potentially, strategy. Seems interesting.

It's not a beta, it's a technical alpha, it doesn't even have textures.
Don't start complaining about graphics just yet.

Graphics seem really lastgen. I noticed how many rooms have no shadows at all and no shadows are being cast from environment objects.

What are we betting on? That the recoil will be adjusted and the heartbeat monitor thing nerfed by release? Ok, let's say one steam game of our choosing (~60bucks range)

Both. And I'm talking actual recoil like BF. And no xray vision, no seeing thru walls.

FWIW, I saw no x-ray vision :bleh:

Remote heartbeat detectors, scout drones (which can be shot), and whatever info the teammates give you, but you still don't know exactly what's there.

Anyways, while the shooting did look CoD-like, they also only showed a very short range map (inside an airplane) and were using mostly fully automatic weapons, so I suppose there's still a lot of gunplay yet to be revealed. It probably didn't help that their game audio capture was nonexistent/done really oddly and made even the unfinished sound assets sound really tame - I think it was being picked up through the player mics or through a mic a ways away from a computer or something...

Ummm... The hearbeat detector shows you exactly where the enemies are. It was even commented in the PC Gamer video as being too OP.
