For some time now it takes 3 clicks to get backwards.

Click on thread. Fine.

To get outta that takes at least 3 backward strokes.
I am guessing it's the stillborn advertising.

..must fully load until you get what you wanst.

or am I doing something wong...tee hee hee.

Nor does it happen here with latest chrome,
maybe it's an extension that you use? does it happen in "incognito" mode as well?

p.s.
I'm @ win7, are you two on win10?

if all else fails you can always try the "did you try turn it off and on again" but in a more drastic measure, besides restarting your computer (if you haven't in the past month) try uninstalling your browser and installing it again (from an up-to-date installer) or at the very least resetting it to factory settings, maybe something somewhere went bad =p

(like, maybe you skipped several sub versions and then did an immediate upgrade from 7 version a go to the latest and the QA people over Google missed out on that rare case where this is done and thus your browser now require 3 clicks to go back)

p.s
Run malwarebytes \ some antivirus (avast?) and check if anything is up with that (also look up for anything with the word "conduit" in your program files :X)

Happening for me too with Firefox 43.0.3 on Windows 10.
It's most likely a problem with the ads, as I saw it loading stuff from cdn.adnxs.com after it finished loading the page for a second.

I can see it when right clicking the back button:

Yeah, this has reared it's head again, though I never thought it went away 100% from when I noticed it months back (I think there was a very similarly named feedback thread, even).

Anyways, it's definitely one set of ads in particular, or at least one style/provider. Last time it happened to me, they were ads mimicking adwords style layouts in the banner at the top of the page.

It's definitely problems with the ads. The best thing to do is to just subscribe to R3D. It's not like it costs much and browsing the forums ad-free is 300% more pleasant and faster too.

Yes, everyone should do that to support R3D BUT they should also install Ghostery and either Ublock Origin or Adblock Plus, because this kind of bull #@! is unacceptable not to mention the danger that not blocking ads provide.

But hey, its a free country, if you like to get interrupted and possibly injected with malicious code there's absolutely nothing stopping you from keeping at it.
