I wonder if they've come up with some new tech. We could definitely use more competition in the dGPU sector..

My guess is going to be peripheral based.

Definately the fanboy in me wants a dGPU from 3DFX again. Would be sweet but I doubt it.

GLIDE API anyone???

Didn't Nvidia buy the 3dfx name as well? Is this some kind of Nvidia tech resurrected under the 3dfx name?

That what I thought as well. Something must have changed or this is completely bogus.

*edit* The more I read though, it doesn't look like nVidia may have actually bought 3DFX outright. Looks more like they bought all their IP. Which may or may not have included being able to use the 3DFX name. Which might also explain why nVidia never used it.

*edit2* Also the image is fanart from Deviant-Art. This is looking more and more fake.

I hope its some of super glide wrapper that works FLAWLESSLY with win10 in ALL, I mean all, older 3dfx titles.

AND it adds all the new post processing features like ray tracing and anti-aliasing.

Also: Prepare for AN major announcement......:bleh:

They could do like matrox and buy their gpus from another make. Intel would be smart to do this but one guy on twitter looked it up and said the trademark was unrevivable...

With 4 GPU manufacturers would be a pain in the ass for devs and consumers. There are driver issues and game related optimization with just 2 manufacturers but 4 ?

Seems to be a play on Jensen, who did actually acquire 3dfx 20 years ago.
