I'm sure there'll be problems since it's
going into an Abit KT7 board (via kt133 which Radeon apparently doesn't like from what I see here), but I'm willing to work through them since I am building an entire system from scratch.

As an aside...

It would be nice if this board did not develop a "fanboy" attitude, and instead continued to focus on the technology at hand rather than constantly trying to defend a purchase. I could have gotten that in the Nvidia newsgroup after all.

Yes, yes, it hurts to spend $300 on a card and then have the company not support it, or have some other card beat it in some made-up benchmark, but..

Remember.. It's just a video adapter.

Life is too short for angry words spent on technology that won't even be around 3 years from now.

And since Radelon did see a performance increase (regardless of the *how* it happened) perhaps the tweaking program he mentioned is worth something, eh? ;)

I'm sorry for that little dispute about HyperZ. But in the end it was for the better good of Radeon owners. When you get your card and you install it follow these instructions as they may be the best way to get your card working with it's best performance.

1. Uninstall all current video drivers
2. Reboot
3. Install current graphics card as Standard VGA
4. Reboot
5. Install AGP drivers
6. Shutdown
7. Open your case and install the Radeon
8. cancel auto hardware detect then install dx7a
9. Reboot
10. Install new 3054 drivers
11. Install dx7a
12. Reboot
13. Try out your games, etc. HAVE FUN!!!
