Now that summer and the upper 80's and 90's are hopefully gone I can resume folding full time.

In 2.5 days caveman_jim is going down and the #15 slot shall be mine :) By no later than Christmas I should have the #7 slot, thanks to the power of my two 7970's getting an average 200k per day

Come and get me, big boy

Hey Jim... As an AMD PR manager I think it would be a great idea to get a couple of R9-290x's when they come available and fold the new Core_17 Wu's on them for Rage3D? ;)

That would be an actual demonstration of how good the new cards are and it would bring some much needed points to the team. :D

At the same time you could do a review of how much power they are using, how hot they are getting, etc. The Core_17 WU's stress the GPU's better then anything.

Nope, haven't moved yet - couldn't get details of school systems etc., in time for school to start so we're waiting till next year to move the family. I've got an apt in TX and am commuting back every once in a while to visit with the family; lots of skype of an evening.

Austin is a bit different from B'ham, better in a lot of ways but the housing market is very different - much higher prices, much quicker moving, which means more expensive to replace what I've got.

I'm back in B'ham this week (my anniversary was yesterday, so working from home) and will be back in Austin next week - I'm not going to Hawaii for the big event - I'll be watching the livestream like the rest of you guys :D

Not sure about the 7790 but my 7870 XT clocked at 1175MHz gets about 65K PPD.
I think I saw someone post in the folding forum that his Asus factory overclocked 7790 (1075Mhz) gets around 35k per day.

Edit here's the thread

I'd love to see that as well :)

7970 PPD is already closer to Titan PPD. I love the fact that 7970 is cheaper than Titan and it is really faster when mated Core_17. I wonder how much PPD that R9 290X could produces? I guess roughly 130-150K PPD. If overclocked...maybe 180K-200K PPD?

Shameless post to see my stat box . . .

Austin is a pretty cool city these days, Jim. I have a friend who moved there, moved back, and is going back there soon.

OMG, some you guys have millions of points.

Making a comeback myself. Finished building my new system (bye bye laptop) Just started up the F@H client and set it to the highest settings. Lets see what this new machine can do.

It has been running for a few hours @ 61ºC

I'm trying out Folding@Home again. It's been roughly three years but now I'm in my own place with new hardware to contribute to the cause. Before I had a couple of modest CPUs but now I have my Phenom II 1100T with its Radeon 7990 running as we speak, in addition to my Core i5-4670 with a Geforce GTX 480.

Just noticed you've been in the top slot production-wise for a bit. :fold:
Those 2 280x's are kicking my 2 7970's arse's by a fair margin. :)

Oh, I went through a couple of upgrades, actually. I have two systems running now but with only GPU folding on:

Main desktop: AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-core with 2x Radeon R9 280x
Living room desktop: Intel Core i5-4670 3.4GHz 4-core with Radeon 7990

Each PC is hitting > 200k PPD so we're definitely a touch over 400K now.

I've been away for a bit (electricity costs so much in Ontario) and when I come back things have changed.

cfsirl you are kicking some ass on this team. Excellent! :D

It's nice to see the team pulling in 1.8 millions points a day again. Dark is still here bringing big points and what the hell happened to Void? What did you do?

But sadly our new AMD PR manager is doing nothing. Very sad Jim. You should be doing something for the team to help sell these new monster GPU's you guys have.

:fold: It's great to see the regulars still at it and new guys fighting for the lead in PPD.

Awesome all around... I thought we were on the dead team spiral but it's not looking that way now!
