Any deer hunters/enthusiasts here?

I grew up with lots of animals wandering through our yard. Our back yard was up against a large forest. We regularly saw deer, foxes, coyotes, and occasionally bobcats, bears, or skunks. I also saw a mountain lion once, not in my yard, but when I was hiking though the woods. The only ones we shot at were the coyotes, as they would eat neighbor cats and dogs. Everyone else was welcome.

Over the years, we saw fewer and fewer animals wander through, as our area became more residential and alot of the forest was developed.

Oh yeah, and when I was a teenager there were beavers that moved into the woods and created a really elaborate series of damns in the creek. That was neat.

It's really sad how much wildlife has declined.

In the time we have had this property, I can actually note the insect decline as well. The avian decline is the most noticeable.

Humankind will mostly kill itself off in 100 years, the planet will rebound eventually.

Over crowding up north is driving wildlife here at a pretty surprising, and alarming rate. We’ve had multiple confirmed black bear sightings - one of them about 1.5 miles from me, loads of deer, coyote and so on. They’re running out of places to go.

We’re seeing them more and more, following the deer and other smaller wildlife. Hard to blame them, but we have lots of children and pets in a congested area. There’s potential for not good stuff to happen.
