Any of you using a Gsync Ultimate monitor?

Might be a silly question jimbob, but does that monitor run 144hz with Gsync at 4:4:4 when HDR isn't enabled? I know it only goes to 98hz with HDR, but am curious without.

They're going for pretty cheap over here now, over $1000 cheaper than they were a couple months ago.

Yes. IIRC, it’s 4k 144hz 4:4:4 w/o HDR, 4K 120hz 4:4:2 & 4K 98hz 4:4:4 with HDR.

One thing I will say though, the LFC doesn’t seem to be s as good s as my old G-Sync monitor but that might be because I am running @ 98hz all the time instead of 144. I really haven’t had a chance to look into it though as I don’t get much game time and have only noticed it in AC: Odyssey just recently with sharp frame drops. It also may just be a current driver issue as I didn’t notice it prior to taking a break from AC to play Gears 5.

Thanks Jim but reviews seem to say it only goes to 120hz w/o HDR 4:4:4, not that it's a huge deal but don't want to downgrade in that respect.

Think I'm going to give it a miss and grab an LG 34GK950F. Monitor is 21:9 144hz.

Bought the Acer X27 and although IQ was amazing it's just too small. Didn't feel like a big upgrade over my last display, plus I didn't like 98Hz restriction for 4:4:4. Took it back and grabbed a 34GK950F. Very happy with it

The HDR is what keeps me. Also, for the OP or anyone else. THe rog pg27u has been 1200 at microcenter. The hood on the x27 really helps to compensate 27inches

Been using my X27 for about 4 months now. I moved about 3 months ago and haven’t even hooked up my OneX or ps4 pro yet because this thing has me really enjoying PC again.

Don't get me wrong it's a great monitor and HDR was indeed fantastic on it, but the 144hz ultrawide suits me better. To my surprise, despite it's crappy hdr400 spec, HDR still improved the image significantly with 10bit color space. Not a 'great HDR' experience, but certainly looks better thsn SDR.

Wish the x27 was 32"

I can safely say after trying the beautiful x27, two great 4k TV's (Sammy and LG), and my old 165hz IPS panel, that this 34GK950F is the best of the bunch IMHO. It really is killer. The LG nano cell bizzo is like QLED from Samsung, god damn it pops, and 144hz master race fluidity.. ahhh..

Sorry, I'll stop touching myself now.

I just got my x35 today. I will update

Had some time with the x35. Haloing is better than the x27. I got my x35 cheaper than the average price, otherwise I don't think I would of jumped on the band wagon. It's like a noiser (smaller fans, smaller fan gap, and what Im guessing is 3 fans instead of 1) x27 thats ultrawide. Side by side, the x35 looks blurry in comparison. Makes sense with the DPI drop. I'll keep it but I will have to get rid of some other monitors so I have the desk space. I don't think its worth the asking, especially when you can get the x27 or pg27uq for half the price. This top tier monitors trick out slow, so might be worth grabbing if your impatient. I think the mini led ones coming out at some point would be worth waiting for, if you have the patience.

How do you find VA response times - Dark level smearing, or inverse ghosting?

Honestly, coming from the x27 I don't see much of a difference. I also don't play alot of twitchy games these days. I got a replacement one the other day, as my last one was just a loud bitch. The new one doesnt have the same level of annoying fan going on. I will test some more for the smearing with this one. I didn't really notice it playing forza 4.

Nice one. I love my new monitor but would sure like better HDR support (at a decent price). That x35 must be gorgeous in titles with good HDR implementations. Do you think there are enough FALD zones?

Strangely, local retailers say the X35 is discontinued - there must be something new on the way.

TBH that's not suprising. I don't think Acer makes as many as ASUS does. As I will see the Acer Variants sell out well before and the Asus hangs aorund. There is still some white haloing as the x27, but its less. I guess the only real downside is the viewing angles, the curve probably doesnt help. Unless your sitting in front of the monitor (well that's the proper main use for a monitor) it looks like crap. I am just too use to IPS. Right now I have the x27 as a flank. I really wish they would increase the size to 32, but the x27 is noticeably sharper. Gaming wise, I can still tell but its just much more immersive, so i will take the hit.
