ATI RW2: key presses repeat delay too quickly

I've been lurking for a while reading all these RW posts, but unfortunately I haven't found a solution for this.

The repeat delay is way too fast. It double presses a key when holding it down for not so long. It's incredibly irritating in some of the programs I use, I know the RW2 sends 3 versions of the same code (prefixed w/ 00, 01, 02), even opening up notepad and using the arrow keys to go back and forth you'll see it doing this. Does anyone know how to avoid this?

I use the latest drivers version 3.2, have tried the other versions available from the ATI website, but no luck. Also, other threads do not offer a solution.

Any help is much appreciated!

edit:
@Methane: thanks for your reply, however, I've tried all the previous versions available for RW2 and the problem keeps occuring.

Furthermore, regardless of which driver version is installed, in the device manager are three devices listed and all have Driver Date: 26-6-2003 and Driver Version: 2.0.0.0. It would make sense if the driver version number would be different. Can anyone confirm this is correct?

The devices listed are:
ATI Remote Wonder Controller
ATI Remote Wonder II Input Device
ATI Remote Wonder II Pointing Device

I had the same problem with the 3.02 drivers on the RW Pro. I reinstalled the 3.01 drivers and the problem went away...although the range was decreased.

I tried the remote on another computer which hadn't the remote software installed before. I installed version 3.01, but the same problem occurs.

Can someone please confirm that regardless of which driver version is installed, in the device manager are three devices listed and all have Driver Date: 26-6-2003 and Driver Version: 2.0.0.0.

It would make sense if the driver version number would be different, maybe new drivers are not installed correctly, but also on the other computer this version is listed and no drivers were installed before.

I have two systems. THe older one is an AIW9000 with RW1 - it is currently using v3.0 of the driver (says the add/remove software program - I cannot remember). I had a problem with it once but I think it was corrected with new drivers
My new system is AIW 9600XT with HDTV wonder and RW2 with 3.03 drivers, 6.1 Catalyst, 9.13 MMC and WIndows XPMCE2005 Rollup2.
I have the same problem. THought I resolved it by pluggin in the USB receiver, then installing the drivers (after uninstall and reboot) but no-go.
Now my video is stuttering (analog), but I may need to reboot.
I can confirm the dates you see, and can also see 12/152003 if you dig to the driver filenames in windows\system32\drivers. Dont know what is up with that
My old system only has 2 usb devices, and the 2nd one is a v.326 receiver which is actually an x10 driver. I had heard that the RW2 isnt exactly an x10, so third party applications like key factory dont work with it.
I also have a RW plus, which I may hook up next to see if it fairs better. I liked the RW2 and the AUX buttons, along with the potential IR blaster jacks on the base of the RF receiver. But I'd rather not have double-clicks!

Just to update:
I have changed to a Remote WOnder Plus with version 3.03 (you need to unplug the RW2, uninstall, reinstall, then reboot, replug RW+) and it works fine. I changed the other PC to use v3.02 and RW2 and it is fine too (doesnt use XP MCE)
Stuttering went away, could have been low disk space or reconfiguration.

Finally, I cannot get the letters to work with mulitple number keypresses. Any ideas? I have tried a couple registry hacks I saw - no go
